TenTen E-Liquid Shortfills
TenTen E-liquid are a brand on a mission, to provide great tasting juices at very attractive prices. As times are hard for many people at the moment and finances are tight, this is a shrewd move, but the aim means nothing if the flavours don’t deliver so we are taking a look at the whole range to see how they measure up. Si has already had the pleasure of reviewing the Salts range and he really liked them, so I had high hopes that the shortfills would be equally good.
As you might be able to guess from the name, there are ten flavours to choose from, all classics that most vapers will be comfortable with. Again, this makes sense when it comes to making this an affordable and accessible range, complicated recipes wouldn’t fit the brief. But because they are all familiar flavours, it means they will have to work a bit harder to stand out in the crowed e-liquid market.
The presentation of the bottles also fits the brand, it is no nonsense and tells you everything you need to know without any frills or pretention. You get the brand, the tag line, the flavour, and the bottle size (100ml with space in the bottles for a couple of nic shots which are sold separately for £1 a pop). All the warnings and legal requirements are clearly printed, and in really tiny writing, there are instructions for mixing up your juice with the nic shots. This is a good idea for newbies, but you will need good eyesight to be able to read it. Each flavour has its own colour scheme so you can easily tell them apart. Whilst it is all simple and uncomplicated, the design does the job well.
Whilst the salts range are going to be better in pod systems, the shortfills are going to be happier in a subohm/RTA set up. They are all 70VG/30PG so will be good for chucking out those lovely, billowy clouds.
“Mixed Berry E-liquid is a fantastic fruit blend. Featuring sweet a medley of summer mixed berries creating the perfect all day vape!”
I’ve always been rather partial to berry vapes and this is a good one. It has a really nice balance of sweet, juicy, and tart which is what I look for in this type of flavour profile. I’d say there is some blackberry, raspberry, red currant, and black currant. It has a really satisfying kick but also manages to be almost thick with a jammy texture. I love the richness, and it certainly isn’t lacking in flavour. This is definitely an all-day vape for me, and if you like berry flavours, I’d say this is a pretty safe bet.
Grape Mixed With Berries
“Grape Mixed With Berries is a fantastic fruit blend. Featuring a sweet medley of freshly picked summer mixed berries, creating the perfect all day berry vape”
I have to say, I love the name of this e-liquid, one of my pet hates is overly enigmatic juice names for the sake of being interesting. This just says what it is, no frills, no complications, and it perfectly describes the contents. This is a strong purple grape style, with the added twist of a foundation of general berry flavour. Grape is the dominant flavour though, and it is very tasty. The berries are definitely a medley which makes it hard to pick out any specific flavour, but I think this is more due to the grape being the lead. It works well and is comfortingly familiar but with enough of a twist to make it stand out.
“Strawberry Watermelon is mouth-watering burst of fruit flavour you have to experience to believe. Full of ripe juicy strawberries, the sweetness is mellowed with delicate, refreshing watermelon”
These are two flavours which always play nicely together and this one doesn’t disappoint. It is nice and strong too, which not all watermelon flavours can manage to do successfully. Surprisingly, I’d say the watermelon is the more immediate flavour with the strawberry sneaking in to sweeten things up and add some depth. If you are coming from disposables to tanks, you will love this flavour as it is the same kind of level of in your face flavour.
“Heiberry Ice is a fruity sensation of mixed red berries topped off with a cool menthol breeze. Experience the ice-cool crystal kick as the intense flavours of ripe fruits burst through. The fruit to menthol ratio has been perfectly balanced, making this e-liquid great for vaping all day long”
The brilliant white colour scheme on the label worried me and I braced myself for a full frontal icy blast. I was right to be cautious as this is super fresh, but in a surprisingly pleasant way. I hate the sort of ice that just takes your breath away and completely takes over so any flavour is wasted, this isn’t like that at all. Normally I try to stay clear of menthol, but this one is lovely. I couldn’t even begin to say what fruits are there, it is more a general rounded sweetness which is the perfect fit for the menthol. Obviously there is a strong nod to a very well loved e-liquid, dare I say it, but I think I prefer this one.
“Mango… If you love mango vape juice but are also looking for an extra cool blast, Mango E Liquid is for you! To give you the feeling of sipping on a refreshing glass of mango on ice. With its mix of exotic fruit and a slight icy chill, Mango Ice E Liquid is perfect for hot summer days”
Mango is a great flavour for testing the quality of a range, I’ve had some amazing ones and some massively disappointing ones, so I consider it a bit of a benchmark flavour. I’d put this in the above average section, it has a good range between the sweet, syrupy flavour and the fresh, authentic notes. I wasn’t so sure about the ice element, but it is quite mild and works pretty well to give it a slightly fresh note without taking anything away from the main flavour. It also avoids getting sickly making it a great workhorse e-liquid.
Red Berry Ice
“Red Berry Ice will remind you a lot of a famous red liquid of yesteryear. Perfect combination of berries with grape, anise and eucalyptus. Classic Flavour, Classic Vape!”
Now I can see what they are getting at with the “famous red liquid”, but my first thought was cherry tunes, and that is no bad thing because I love those lovely little cold sweets (they never really tasted of cherry, but they are lush). I know anise can be a bit of a marmite flavour, but I wouldn’t let that put you off if you usually avoid it as it is quite subtle, working more to give it a silky smooth mouth feel. Whilst I have enjoyed the whole range, I’d say this is my favourite. I’m not sure it will help me breathe more easily, but it certainly tastes great.
“Blackcurrant Aniseed delivers a juicy taste when vaped. By choosing blackcurrant, we have created a blend that has a sweet base to it, the sweetness of which is given more depth by floral notes of aniseed. A must try”
Another aniseed flavour, which suits me just fine. Whilst it is a strong all-round flavour, the two elements are very nicely balanced so it never gets overpowering. The blackcurrant is dark and smooth, which only gets better with the silky aniseed.
“We have hit the nail on the head with their impressive Blue Raspberry. A real sub-ohm treat with that signature sweet blue raspberry flavour, pure juicy fruit goodness. You will be coming back to this…”
Now if you have followed any of my previous e-liquid reviews, you will know that Blue Raspberry is a flavour that I usually just don’t really get what the fuss is about, I normally prefer just regular raspberry. But I have to say, this one is a bit of a winner. It is very much like the flavour of a slush puppy, and I reckon you could have a bit of fun if you mixed it with some iced nic shots, if you like that sort of thing. I’m more than happy with it as it is though, and it may just make me change my mind on the whole flavour type.
“Raspberry Lemonade e-liquid is a soda blend with fruity notes. On inhale, the fizzy, citrus taste of lemonade plays between tart and sweet, complemented by the juicy notes of raspberry”
This is a fantastic lemonade, it is unmistakeable. It has everything you could want, in fact I reckon if I grabbed a bottle of R Whites right now, I may feel a little disappointed because this e-liquid is that good. The raspberry is quite mellow, acting more to add a sweet and mellow aftertaste. But the fizzy lemonade is definitely the headline act here, and deservedly so as it really is that good.
“Watermelon Ice is the perfect all-day everyday vape, rain or shine. Featuring refreshing watermelon flavours throughout the inhale has a ripe watermelon taste and the exhale is sweet with lovely cool exhale”
This was the one that I was expecting to be my least favourite (that isn’t why I’ve left it last though, I just kept everything in a bag and pulled out bottles at random, so it was purely a lucky dip), but I was in for a bit of a treat. The watermelon is really strong and the ice is mild and this balance works brilliantly. It is a candy style watermelon and reminds me of those watermelon ice creams that look like a slice and have chocolate seeds, and I love them, so it stands to reason that I really like this juice too. If you prefer an authentic flavour, it may not be for you, but if you like watermelon candy, I think you will love this.
I have to admit that I really didn’t expect much from the TenTen range as they didn’t sound particularly exciting or inspiring, but it goes to show that you really shouldn’t judge things superficially as every one of these flavours is quality. They are simple, straight to the point, and do exactly what they need to and they do it very well, and I don’t think you can ask for any more than that. I would happily vape any of them. The fact that they are only £12.99 a bottle is just the icing on the cake, and if you want even more of a bargain, you can double up to get 2 for £20 which really makes them exceptional value for the amount of flavour they have managed to squeeze into each puff.
Many thanks to TenTen E-liquid for sending these in for review.
