Orchard Dusk Shortfill by Digby's Juices

We are a long way from autumn, but Digby's Juices sent over their Orchard Dusk to bring the season of mellow fruitfulness vibes to our vapes

Just a quick one for today. Along with the Salty Sam’s nic salts range, Digbys Juices also sent over a bottle of their Orchard Dusk 50ml shortfill for us to try which made for a nice contrast and, if I’m honest, is much more my thing as I still consider myself to be a fairly traditional old school mouth to lung vaper at heart. So, I set up my current favourite mtl set up and got busy.

Orchard Dusk is a tobacco e-liquid with a twist, it is mixed with fresh apple. Apple tobacco is more associated with pipe smokers but is also the one of the most popular flavours for shisha/water pipes smokers, so I wasn’t sure which style it was going to be. In the end, it leaned more towards a traditional tobacco but let’s take a few steps back first.

I am a big fan of Digby’s juices, they are everything I look for when it comes to gourmet e-liquid, and now more than ever we should all be supporting our own boutique e-liquid manufacturers. In a world full of in your face, super sweet, basic flavours, the real flavour hounds among us will find the good stuff is still around in all its carefully crafted glory and it is as vibrant a scene as it has always been.

Orchard Dusk comes in either 50ml or 100ml shortfill form ready to add your own nic shots. It is a 50PG/50VG e-liquid so will be best suited to mtl pods or rebuildable tank set ups. It tastes great in both, but if you usually like a cloud chucking subohm vape, this may not be for you.

Adding your nicshots is super easy too as the bottles have a flip top design so you can just pop the top and pour your nicotine straight in. This bottle type always puts me in a good mood, anything for an easy life!

Now I also have to state that I am very particular about my tobacco vapes, so many end up tasting like you have licked an ashtray the morning after a heavy session, just dirty on every level. But tobacco vapes don’t need to taste like that and Digby’s Juices absolutely get that. The tobacco flavour here is rich and full of depth like proper leaf tobacco should be. There is also a sweeter sub level here, it is an RY4 tobacco after all. For those who don’t know, RY4 is a sweeter tobacco blended with real caramel notes and an almost nutty taste. I love a good RY4, and this is a good one.

Now the twist comes with the apple which was the bit I was a bit wary about as it can be a tricky flavour. It can either be really artificial, almost candy like, which would not work with tobacco, or it is really weak, like severely watered down squash, which would have been lost mixed with tobacco. But this turned out to be an authentic fresh British apple. It is naturally sweet but has the crisp dryness of a fresh Gala apple. It is a very distinctive apple flavour, and it works brilliantly with the sweet but rich tobacco base.

Normally I only really use tobacco e-liquids as a complete change to my usual fruit vapes, but Orchard Dusk is so wonderfully balanced that I happily refilled my tank several times on the trot. I think it will be a great choice if you already have a preference for real tobacco flavours, but it also offers something a bit different if you usually stick to vaping fruits.

Many thanks to Digby’s Juices for sending the Orchard Dusk shortfill in for review.

When her usual forum closed, Michelle found herself in a brave new world full of excitement that something fresh and new was happening. A few days later she somehow found herself on the moderating team and is still not really sure how that happened. Even stranger, she slowly worked her way up to admin and now helps behind the scenes, liasing with vendors and coordinating social media but she can still be found making smutty comments on the forum. If all that wasn't enough, she also is a proud member of the Potv review team specialising in E-liquid reviews for the discerning vaper.
