Something a bit different today, I got to try a CBD Vape Shot.
Whilst this is posted as a review, I am going to do things slightly differently to normal. You see CBD works differently for different people, it is not a “one size fits all” product and what works for me, might not work for you. So rather than a straight review, I am going to talk about the product, usage and finally my personal experiences. I am not a doctor and this is not a medical product, but I can give you my honest experiences and you can judge for yourself whether this might be something that might benefit you too.
I have been a user of CBD products before and am a big fan, but my last batch didn’t seem to work as well and I let my dosage slip. So I am coming to this with a completely clean slate and all benefits I got are purely from the vape shot.
CBD
For anyone who has been living under a rock for the last few years, CBD is an extract of the cannabis plant. The big thing is that it has many benefits without the high as it contains no THC which is the other main component and is the bit that gets you stoned. There may be trace levels present but not enough to have any effects and it shouldn’t be a problem if you have drug testing for work. Any reputable CBD company will be able to provide lab test data for their products and CBD Vape Shot are no exception. Other key points about this product are:

Previously, I have only used full spectrum, premixed cbd so this was a new approach for me.
How to mix and use
So my review shot arrived and it comes in the cutest dropper bottle I have ever seen! It holds 2ml of concentrate diluted in pg. There are three strength options, 250mg, 500mg and 1000mg. They recommend starting out on a lower strength and working up, although I would suggest going in to a mid strength if you are hoping for a specific benefit. I know a few people who have tried other brands and have complained that it hasn’t helped and I believe mostly it is because the dose has been too low. On the other hand, you don’t want to go in high to start and then not have any headroom if you want to up the dose later.
I have always been put off using isolate before as, to be absolutely honest, it seemed like a faff. You have to calculate the dose (maths is not a strong point for me, any more than ten and my socks have to come off!), and you have to mix the powdered product to dissolve it correctly. It just seemed like too much aggro! But the vape shot takes all that away. They provide a very handy and comprehensive guide to mixing the correct dosage, taking away any confusion and making the process extremely simple. All you need is your body weight and your target strength, and the calculator does the rest. I wanted a medium/high dose so I put in my vitals and it told me I needed to add the 1000mg shot to 30ml of eliquid which then came out at 66.6mg, a pretty satisfying number for a fan of Black Sabbath! CBD Vape Shot also sell a good variety of shortfills so you can get all you need in one go. Finally you just give it a shake and it is ready to use.
Some people like to fill a tank up to use, but I have always preferred a dripper. I use it three times a day to keep the dose steady and constant. I simply load my dripper with as much juice as it can hold and that seems to be enough. To get the most from it, take a deep inhale and hold it in your lungs for as long as you can before exhaling it. The deeper you can take it and hold it, the more effective it is. Some people say they get a feeling of relaxation after vaping it, but my theory is that the feeling comes from breathing deeply and getting a good few lungfuls of air (remember, you cannot get high from cbd!).
It is described as flavourless, but I would have to disagree. It is not strong tasting, but it definitely has a characteristic effect on the tastebuds. It is a little hard to describe, it is a little bitter and can catch the throat a bit. I would definitely suggest a strong, sweeter eliquid as the base. I used a danish pastry flavour and it would have been better with a more robust carrier. But it isn’t unpleasant at all, just don’t expect there to be no flavour notes after you have mixed it up.
My experiences
So this is where it gets personal! A few years ago I injured my lower back lifting something without the correct care. It has left me with constant issues and at best, I am uncomfortable and most of the time I am in pain. I have had physio and regularly exercise to try to help control it, but it really doesn’t do much. In turn, this effects my sleep and as a consequence, my pain is worse in the morning. It is an endless cycle that I struggle to control so it doesn’t take over my life. I also suffer from anxiety. Basically I am a bit of a wreck! So when I first heard about CBD and other users positive experiences, I had to try it for myself and it really helps. But as I said earlier, my previous brand stopped working for me for some reason. Because of this, I wasn’t really expecting much but I was more than happy to give it another go. I am so glad I did as this is the real deal. I took my first dose before bed and woke the next morning feeling a lot more refreshed. I actually felt like I had slept most of the night instead of my usual frequent waking to try to get comfortable. I was very surprised to notice anything so early on as CBD builds up in your system and it takes time to really show what it can do. Over the next few days, the pain became much more manageable, and after a week I would class it as slightly uncomfortable, more of a niggle. My sleep tracker graph has gone from jagged highs and deep lows to being a steady wave of healthy rest and I can’t even begin to tell you how much difference this is making. My anxiety is also more controllable. It doesn’t take it away, but it smooths it over to a level that I can cope with, and I haven’t had any full blown panic attacks (which is amazing considering all the crazy stuff that is going on in the world at the moment). All of this is just what I have experienced in one week of using the vape shot and I expect it to improve even more over the next few weeks as it continues to build up in my system.
There are a lot of CBD products in the market right now, you can even pick it up in health food shops and pharmacies, but there is also a lot of snake oil around so you have to do your research and chose your products very carefully. Or you could do yourself a favour and trust me, this stuff is really good! As well as being a great product, their website clear, helpful and informative with useful guides and some great blogs, and you can see they are as passionate about the power of CBD as I am.
