POTV have decided to review disposables once again. The politics of these devices won’t go away anytime soon, but love or hate them, they are out there and are selling in silly numbers, some are good and some are very bad, and we will try and sort the wheat from the chaff for you.

ZOVOO DRAGBAR Z700 SE triple

We were only sent a handful to try out but there are currently 25 flavours available with the promise of a further 25 to make a whopping 50 flavours in total. That’s crazy! Here’s what’s available at launch:

  • Blue Razz Ice
  • Raspberry Watermelon
  • Banana Ice
  • Banana Shake
  • Strawberry Shake
  • Blueberry Pomegranate
  • Apple Ice
  • Mint
  • Blue Razz Lemonade
  • Apple Peach Watermelon
  • Dragon Fruit Lemonade
  • Mango Watermelon
  • Pineapple Ice
  • Pineapple Lime Soda
  • Watermelon Strawberry
  • Strawberry Banana
  • Green Voodoo

  • Cola Ice
  • Blueberry Raspberry
  • Spearmint

That is quite the lip-smacking selection and they all sound pretty lush, the mind boggles what the next 25 flavours will be?

Unboxing

As with all disposables, the packaging is minimal but it is vacuum sealed for freshness as they contain e-liquid. An interesting approach is that ZOVOO bundle two in the pack.

There’s an instruction leaflet but you can ignore that unless you enjoy reading legal bumf. Each pod is sealed in tear open packs which are easy to get into.

Before you get vaping, you will need to remove two silicone bungs at the top and bottom, and there is also a transparent sticker advising you about the battery end of life. Basically it is telling you that the battery is designed to expire just before the e-liquid runs out to avoid dry hits.

Overview

As disposables go, I love the simplistic design and shape. The flattened oval oblong feels great in the hand and the mouthpiece is really comfortable, the size is quite tall but it is very skinny: 112mm x 21mm x 9mm. The body is all plastic and very thin but is plenty strong enough. Without the battery, it weighs less than a lot of those refillable pods which keeps the waste to a minimum, it only weighs 18g all-in.

ZOVOO DRAGBAR Z700 SE clear view

One of its better features is the e-liquid visibility, you can see every drop which makes it easier to estimate when it will run out. Most disposables have the e-liquid hidden which is frustrating, I really like this one and it also adds to the looks.

ZOVOO DRAGBAR Z700 SE airflow

The air inlet is on the base and positioned well so you don’t accidentally block it. Also another decent feature is the status light, rather than it being on the base like others, the Z700 has it embedded under the ‘D’ on the main branding. It’s not too bright and is very easy to cover it up for sly vaping,

The skinny mouthpiece is one of the best I’ve tried, it’s comfortable and creates a natural seal with little effort, a small thing but one you notice during use.

Performance

I only had a small selection to try but I bloody loved em all! The flavours are superb and the vape is instant and smooth. The airflow is just right and has that ciggie-like tightness, the warmth is slight and again similar to a ciggie.

The actual device was a pleasure to use, the smooth shape, comfortable mouthpiece, 18g weight, and the 9mm thickness all come together perfectly, ZOVOO have just got everything right in this disposable.

My only frustration was how quickly it ran out but that’s common with all 2ml disposables, although this one felt more frustrating as you could see e-liquid left in it.

ZOVOO DRAGBAR Z700 SE left overs

This amount was typical and there has to be a good 20+ puffs left in there, the battery simply cuts off without warning and you’re left staring at that lovely e-liquid that’s now out of reach.

I believe this is down to the ickle 380mAh cell. I’ve reviewed quite a few disposables and most with batteries under 500mAh run out of power before the e-liquid, I understand they intended to avoid that nasty dry hit but personally I wold rather consume the full 2ml.

ZOVOO DRAGBAR Z700 SE line up

That aside, the ZOVOO Z700 SE was a pleasure to vape and stood out as possibly the best disposable I have tried, I soon demolished the samples ZOVOO sent and almost sulked once they all ran out, and that’s coming from someone that really dislikes the e-waste that disposables produce.

The Elephant in the Room

Though we at POTV have agreed to continue reviewing disposables, many of us still believe they are a big problem in the vape industry. The e-waste is the main reason as they litter the land and electronics/battery aside, they are classed as single use plastics which we all know are bad.

I feel it only responsible to point out the better ways to vape by using rechargeable, refillable, and reusable vape kits, I intend to add an alternative kit at the end of each disposable review as a balance, so this time around here’s my choice:

ZOVOO DRAGBAR Z700 SE vs Doric Q

The VooPoo Doric Q pod kit with a bottle of ELFLIQ, shop around and this combo will cost you around £10 and is the equivalent of five x disposables (5 x 2ml). After that it gets cheaper as the Doric Q battery is reusable so you just buy replaceable pods which last between 15-20ml for 3 quid each.

To be fair, this option still produces plastic waste with the pod and the 10ml plastic bottle, there are less wasteful options such as replaceable coil kits but there’s no option with the 10ml bottles due to TPD limits that pays no attention to the environmental impact.

If ZOVOO bring out their e-liquids in 10ml bottles, I would be in my element: Doric Q + ZOVOOLIQ = Bliss

Final Thoughts

IF you are dead set on using disposables, then the ZOVOO Z700 SE is highly recommended as it’s one of the very best I have tested, the vape quality is just superb.

My background is Engineering and Professional Photography. Mostly from POTV users knowledge I learned so much about pretty much all styles of vaping and equipment, Cloud Chasing, Squonking, Mouth To Lung, Direct To Lung, Pods, Mechs, Rebuild-able tanks and atomisers etc, and have experience with many many devices and atomisers, it's become a hobby and enjoy trying out the latest gear. I like to think my reviews are plain speaking and informative without getting too technical, if I have to resort to reading the manual then I don't consider it user friendly!
