Squidode Fused Clapton Coils quality and ease of use

The coils come packaged in a protective plastic tube with a press fit lid. The specifications are clearly marked on the lid so you certainly won’t get them mixed up. Each tube contains two pre-made coils. One thing is for sure these coils are really well put together and the individual wraps are precisely spaced.

Do keep in mind that these coils are big, seriously big and also the wire is very thick so they won’t be compatible with every dripper out there. If you plan to try these be certain your RDA has large post holes.

Providing your RDA has good screws the coils are secured easily. It is estimated that with proper installation and care each coils should last you 2-4 months.

Safety precautions

It goes without saying that these coils are intended for advanced users who have extensive experience with low ohm builds. Keep in mind that they have very low Resistance and if you plan to use them with a mechanical mod do make sure that you are fully clued up regarding battery safety.

How do they vape?

I own a few mechanical mods myself and I personally never build lower than 0.4ohm so I had no intention of using these coils on anything other than a Variable Wattage device that has plenty of safety features.

I fitted one of the 36 gauge Nichrome 80 over 24 gauge coils to my 13 Heavens 9 Hells RDA. The grub screws made for a very secure fit and thankfully I had no problems with installation due this RDA’s rather massive post holes. One thing to be aware of is that the wire is extremely thick so make sure you own some proper wire cutters because scissors simply won’t do that good a job. Depending on your RDA clearance might be a concern so make sure your top cap is not touching the coil or you will get a hard short.

Since the wire is so thick the coils can be somewhat awkward if you need to adjust their position so make sure you have got them aligned properly before tightening down the screws. I heated up the coil a few times and strummed it with a flat headed screwdriver to make sure there was absolutely no Resistance fluctuation.

Wicking is extremely easy due to the size of the coils but you will need a good amount of cotton in there. I saturated the cotton and filled up the well with some Attidude Vape The Mistress E-Liquid which is a strawberry and vanilla ice cream flavour.

The Resistance of the coil came out at 0.19 ohm and I started vaping at about 38 Watts. You could push the coil much higher than this but quite frankly I found the vape to be really hot so it seemed completely unnecessary.

Even running 13 Heavens 9 Hells in single coil mode fitted with the chuff cap I got an absolute ton of vapour that quickly started to fog my room up!

Flavour was truly superb with each ingredient in the juice being distinctly noticeable and extremely tasty. In my opinion if you were to try these coils you won’t be disappointed!

Conclusion

Providing you have a good amount of experience with rebuildables and low Resistance builds these coils come highly recommended and offer outstanding flavour and vapour production and due to the high quality should last you a good amount of time.
