Univapo Kipo Pod Kit
The wonderful team at Univapo have sent me the Kipo to review. As always they were very generous and sent three kits in various colours, along with some extra pods!
Before I go any further I just want to clear something up. The first kit I opened to review was the Cherry Pink one, all nice and girly. Unfortunately there was some issues with it, the auto draw would not work at all. So I reached out to the Univapo team and they were excellent! They replied quickly, acknowledging the issue. I returned the item for inspection and they supplied me with a refund for the postage and have already sent me a replacement which they really did not have to do as I did have two already, but they knew I wanted to do a giveaway so they wanted to accommodate me and allow me to continue with my plan. Their communication throughout has been excellent. We all know that things do go wrong sometimes, but they dealt with this so very professionally so thank you Univapo! This says a lot about them as a company.
Right, let’s get to it shall we?

In the box
When I received these, I was surprised at how small they were. The box has everything you need and includes two pods, a 1.0ohm and a 1.3ohm, which I appreciated. It also comes with a lanyard which I have used on and off. It is not something I normally use but thought I would give it a whirl, and it was very handy!
The Device
I will say this again, it’s so small and cute! I have had a few comments about the kit when walking around the office. My team and colleagues are used to seeing me with different kits on my desk but this one got a lot of attention. I have had questions like "is that a lipstick?" or "is it a usb memory bank" amongst other things that I will not divulge on a main page review!
So when you look into this kit and check out the information, they talk about it being like a mini mech mod due to the fire button being at the base. But let’s be honest, this is not the first kit I have seen with a button in this position, the original Wenax has one. So, the device is simple. It has power button at the base, an LED light which is incorporated in the KIPO branding, a USB C charge port at the side, and voila! That’s it, simples! No air holes either but we will come to that later. I like the styling, the body has these swirly ripples which are advertised as CNC cutting design. It’s a little different to the norm which makes me happy as being a pod reviewer, it can get a little samey sometimes.
The Pods
Two pods are included as already mentioned. The pods are tinted but you can easily see your liquid level. The mouthpiece is very comfortable and is perfect for MTL vaping. You have the usual side silicone fill bung which has a little arrow and an indent, so you know which way to open it and you can get your finger in there easily. The fill hole is very generous, especially considering the size of the kit. The coils are built into the pod and the resistance is printed clearly on the base. There is no need to change coils, you just throw it away when it reaches its end of life. The pod fits nicely to the main device and is held well by the magnets. There is a slight bit of wiggle, but you cannot feel it when you vape at all and it's held firmly in place. It could be to let in a little bit of air as there are no air holes anywhere.
In Use
With both pods I used 10mg 50/50 nic salts. I can say the flavour on both is excellent and the vapour is perfect, not too warm and not too cool. This is strictly a MTL device, no doubt about that. You can feel a difference between the two resistances, the 1.0ohm is slightly airier but very much a medium draw. If I was to score on the DD-Drawometer, I would say the 1.3ohm is around a 2, and the 1.0ohm is 4 (1 being tight and 10 loose). I had no leaking from the pods but I did find that they only lasted around five to six days before I noticed a drop in flavour. There could be a few reasons for this, and ultimately because of the enjoyment I got from this kit for those days, it outweighs the life span. It will not put me off purchasing pods for this in the future.
Using the device was simple. I really had no need to utilise the bottom fire button (I'm not a fan anyway). It feels so unnatural to me to use a bottom fire so I used the auto draw all the time, and it worked a dream. The LED light dictates battery level whilst in use and charging. So, the usual five clicks on and off was really all I used the button for. The battery lasted me my working day no problem, and the fact it charges in 20 minutes is a massive bonus.
Top 5 pros
- Small and light
- Superb quality
- Fast charging with the constant 15W output
- Flavour

Niggles
- Bottom fire button – pointless
- Life of the pods could be better
DeeDee’s scoring
- Ease of use: 9.5/10
- Flavour: 9/10
- Design/Quality: 8.5/10
- Overall: 9/10
Conclusion
I think you can tell from my review that I absolutely love this little kit. The flavour and draw are both on point, it's tiny, looks nice and is super easy to use. I would recommend this to any new vaper or to MTL fans. Univapo have done a great job with this! Thank you again for allowing me to review this amazing little device, this one will be in my rotation for sure!

Reviewer at POTVIn August 2019 I joined POTV & in Sept I bought a Caliburn and some nic salts & have not touched a cigarette since! I was smoking around 20 cigarettes a day for 26 years!! Mental! I honestly appreciate all the help and guidance from the POTV members, they made the switch so much easier!I am very much into MTL PODs & AIOs.
