Wismec Reuleaux RX Mini
I am sure that most people are very familiar with Wismec’s range of Reuleaux devices. The RX Mini is their latest offering and offers a maximum output of 80 Watts and features Variable Wattage, Bypass and Temperature Control Modes. Powered by a 2100mAh internal battery the RX Mini is a highly compact device and comes with an included Reux Sub Ohm tank.
It sounds very appealing and will likely please existing Wismec fans so let’s have a good look and find out for certain!

Reuleaux RX Mini styling and build quality
In terms of its overall looks the RX Mini features the same rhomboid style shape of its predecessors but the overall size of the device is way more compact. Without the need for the required two (RX2/3) or even the three batteries (RX200, RX200S) of Wismec’s previous models a great deal of streamlining has become possible so the RX Mini is nowhere near was weighty and quite pocket friendly. All of the edges are nicely chamfered and this means the RX Mini feels as comfortable in the hand as any other model but at the same time will be familiar to Wismec fans.
The 510 connector looks to be made from Stainless Steel and the threading is decent so it should last you a good amount of time. The 510 pin itself is made from brass and is spring-loaded but I personally feel that the travel distance is a little short since not all atomizers sit perfectly flush on this device and some may even leave a very noticeable gap. Depending on what tank or dripper you choose to fit to the RX Mini they can occasionally look ever so slightly crooked (might not bother you that much) so the 510 is not what you call fantastic but even so it should hopefully last some time.
Just like the other Wismec models the RX Mini is constructed from Zinc Alloy and has a nicely painted finish which appears to be durable. The device has the same main fire button as the other models and it is very responsive. The two adjustment buttons are located on the base of the device which makes them something of a pain to adjust and since they are quite recessed it just serves to compound the problem.
The OLED Screen is noticeable improvement since I have never cared that much for the font that Wismec started using for their newer devices. I think that because the overall size of the display is more compact the font no longer suffers from as much vertical stretching which always made it slightly awkward to read and it actually seems less cluttered now. The display is fairly bright and shows a variety of information including Wattage, Voltage and Resistance. In addition temperature is shown when using that mode as is the battery life.
Unlike all of the other Wismec Reuleaux devices the RX Mini does not require external batteries and instead has a 2100 mAh internal battery which can be charged via the included Micro USB Cable with the port itself being located directly beneath the main display. In addition the device is firmware upgradeable and providing you have access to a PC you can download new updates from Wismec. Suitable Ventilation for the battery is provided for via two slots in the sides of the casing and also via two further slots in the base
Ease of use
It works like all Wismec devices so if you have familiarity with them you will be right at home here. The included manual is thorough and covers all functions and even a new user will get to grips with it quickly.
Filling the tank and replacing the coils is very straightforward so you are unlikely to run into problems.
Wismec Reuleaux RX Mini performance
You know I really do find myself questioning the logic of fitting a 2ml capacity tank with a 0.2ohm coil since to get a solid vape you need about 65-72 Watts for best results and as you might imagine this drains the juice extremely fast. Despite my frustration with many manufacturers fitting low Resistance coils to tanks (blame the EU and their TPD) with a limited capacity you do actually get a very solid vape! The flavour is reasonable, it can be a very warm vape and it does put out some very good vapour production! To some extent the performance from the Reux tank’s included coil seemed to sacrifice flavour in order to deliver clouds and I personally feel it could have been much better.
The top filling on the Reux tank works well but the top cap did feel a bit stiff to unscrew every now and then and some juice does tend to pool around the top so it can be occasionally slightly messy if you are not careful. On occasion I have also noticed some minor leaking occurring from the airflow so it would probably not be a good idea to leave juice inside this tank for long periods. The Reux tank airflow offers a restricted lung inhale vape and is not suitable for mouth to lung users. The airflow adjustment works well but has limited flexibility and since it is hidden behind a beauty ring you cannot tell how open it is without inhaling through the tank.
To test Temperature Control Mode I made use of the Uwell Crown Mini and vaping this device in Stainless Steel 316 mode I encountered no problems at all and I got a solid vape!
Battery life isn’t fantastic to be honest but that certainly isn’t helped by the Reux tank coils needing at least 70 Watts and a heavy vaper like myself can run the battery down in less than half a day. Now providing you are thinking of using another tank with higher Resistance coils you will certainly get more life out of the RX Mini and you will also get even more use out of it if you are a far more modest vaper. Alternatively this device might be ideal if you only need it for short trips out and about.
Conclusion
The Wismec Reuleaux RX Mini is a solid device with a nice form factor and overall it has only a few issues. I found that I personally hated the adjustment buttons because they are way too small and since they are recessed it makes it even more awkward and I frequently found I was having to dig my fingernails in to adjust things. The location of those buttons in the base also feels highly inconvenient and I personally think it would have been better to put them on one side of the device.
The 510 pin in my opinion could do with having a little more travel distance because you will get a noticeable gap when using certain atomizers but it is probably something you can live with and it isn’t a problem if you are using the included tank.
In terms of overall performance the RX Mini works extremely well whether you choose to use Variable Wattage or Temperature Control so I certainly cannot fault it in that department. The menu system works just like all other Wismec RX devices and is very straightforward even to a relative newcomer to vaping.
All in this is a pretty decent device (apart from the annoying adjustment buttons and limited battery) but the included Reux tank while offering a reasonably good vape is less than ideal in my opinion since it does occasionally leak and seems to sacrifice flavour to some extent for sheer cloud production. However providing you find this kit at an attractive price the Wismec Reuleaux RX Mini is still worth a look!
