Hotcig's new RDA is known as the Castle BF RDA, and it's a 22mm dual post RDA featuring direct to coil airflow and a domed top cap, with the airflow and top cap designed to provide excellent flavour!

The Castle BF RDA is a squonk ready RDA, coming with a BF pin pre-installed and 510 pin in the spares bag, and it's also aimed at those who prefer a tighter draw. Let's have a closer look at the Hotcig Castle BF RDA...

Design and Build Quality

The Castle BF RDA is a 22mm width rebuildable dripping atomiser, that comes with a bottom feed pin pre-installed so it's ready for use on a squonker out of the box! A standard 510 pin is included in the box, and can be easily swapped in if you don't wish to use the Castle BF RDA on a squonker.

You get the choice of two top caps in the box, which is a really nice touch, a Stainless Steel cap and a matte white Ultem cap are both included. Both of them look great on the Castle BF RDA, my personal preference has been to use the matte white Ultem top cap as it's actually transparent, meaning I can see how saturated my wick is, and it stays cooler under heavy use. A black Delrin drip tip also comes with the Castle BF RDA, and a black top cap will be available soon to purchase.

I'm a fan of the looks of the Castle BF RDA, it's a great pairing with my Wismec Luxotic. I've not encountered any issues with the build quality, the top cap sits on the deck O-Rings nicely, and I feel that it is a really well made RDA!

Building the Hotcig Castle BF RDA

A two post build deck is found on the Hotcig Castle BF RDA, and this is one of the easiest decks I've ever built on! A premade Clapton coil is found in the spares bag, with a resistance of 0.2ohm, and this slots into the post holes easily.

The grub screws tighten down nicely, holding the coil legs in place and give stable resistance. Wicking is a fiddle, simply cut the wick tails just outside of the edge of the deck and push them down.

Airflow

An airflow slot measuring 3mm in diameter is found at each side of the deck, with the airflow intakes angled downwards slightly to hit the coil. This has an added benefit of offering protection against leaking when squonking!

Hotcig have designed the Castle BF RDA to offer a tight and flavourful vape, with the airflow ranging from a restricted lung hit to a mouth to lung hit depending on your build and airflow setting. Airflow is adjusted simply by rotating the top cap.

Performance

Designed as a pure flavour atomiser, the Hotcig Castle BF RDA offers a tighter, condensed draw that is quiet too, I didn't notice any whistle at all!

Using the included 0.2ohm Clapton coil with the airflow set to fully open gives me a really incredible, flavoursome vape. This atty really delivers on the flavour front, and has become a go-to atty of mine recently thanks to the absolutely superb vape it offers. Although the airflow is a little restricted, it still gets pretty cloudy too!

The sloped design of the airflow intakes work really well for squonking, as it's really hard to get this to leak if you oversquonk. I can safely say that during the past couple of weeks that I have used this RDA, I haven't experienced a single leak!

Conclusion

Hotcig have designed an absolute gem with the Castle BF RDA, this is not only one of the most flavoursome atties I've tried this year, it's one of the most flavoursome I've ever tried full stop!

If you like a tighter, more intense draw then the Castle BF RDA should absolutely be part of your collection, it's relegated some of my more expensive atties to the vape draw! For sub £25 this is an absolute steal!
