18650 batteries have just a few things in common. They will all be roughly 18mm in diameter, 65mm in length and will all have a positive and negative end, an insulator disc and an outer wrap. This is where in appearance at least, the similarities between all 18650 batteries end.

Let's start with the primary differences;

Hey @mattyk2010 no problem! We have many more blog posts and will continue to share them if you find them informative.

@WASD in Blue @mattyk2010 is bang on. We need to know the wattage as a minimum to make an accurate recommendation.
You should post more mate there a great read [emoji4] and it offers valuable info to everyone new who wouldn't think to go read your site [emoji6]

Hi @18650UK and @mattyk2010 Im soon to be receiving a Vaporesso Gen that uses two 18650 batteries but what mAh size do I buy ? any advice/recommendations appreciated :)2

The short answer is the biggest capacity you can get while covering the amperage you need.

You can work that out for yourself (if you watch mooch's video below) do you know what tank you'll be using on it and at what wattage you usually run that tank at? If you are vaping below 80w on a dual cell then 3,000 mah cells like the 30Q will be fine, if you are up at 150w or something then you'll have to sacrifice some of that mAh for amps.
