So the highest pne day death toll in America was 4,482 on 12/01/2021.
Weve just recorded 1,820 which is our highest yet but were 1x 6th the size of America.
Could America be being economical with their figures?
Seems very low in comparison to population size compared to us and given they dont appear to be doing as much as us to combat covid over there.

Their death rate was modelled to reach 6k a day by February without serious intervention.

Out in the middle of nowhere states there's a much less dense population and far less people travel there. I have a mate in Colorado and they've basically just carried on through the whole thing so far like nothing was happening. It's not spreading there in the same way at all.

Compare that to New York and you might find the US looks worse.

Population density is key, 60 odd million people here, for ex, in a country the third if the size of Texas, that also has less than half our population

Just been hearing that the situation in LA is very grim with 700 bodies waiting to be cremated.... and a new variant making up 30-50% of all new cases in California too.

I think it's pretty difficult to compare bare numbers, they only tell a very small part of the story.

@StrawberryRipple it is hard to understand - by the looks of this we have less cases/1M population, we have tested more of our population ............ yet our deaths/1M population are higher?
