Univapo Miso.

I’m in a quandary.

I’m in a quandary because I don’t know whether to go with the intro I wanted to or to bottle it and do something else.

I like to make little associations in my openings and try to be a little interesting but I’m also a little introverted and like to be appropriate, and I'm not sure if this really is.

You see, I wanted to start by referencing the song: “Me So Horny” by “2 Live Crew” but I don’t know whether I should because it’s a little offensive - and slightly racist - and I’m a little shy.

The song title in itself isn’t ‘that’ bad but the rest of the song is, so I think I’ll go half way and just go with that.

So here goes!

“Me so horny! Me so horny, me so, me so horny!”

In truth that probably wasn’t terribly appropriate - or in character for me - particularly given its other connotations, but I feel it serves this little Univapo Miso pod kit well because it is a horny little appendage.

Like the Kipo kit I’ve tested before, this really is a lovely little thing and goes beyond other pods in terms of its quality and performance.

As a young company, Univapo certainly are getting a lot of things right and they seem to understand the draw and feel of an MTL vape well - better than most in fact. Including a lot of the big boys who either don’t understand or don’t care - take your pick.

From the moment you hold it you know that you're going to get something good.

It just has a little aura about it. A little X-factor. I don’t know why, I can’t explain it, but it feels ‘more’.

It might all be a very rudimentary and basic design with just a single, central button, three-colour power level illuminator and a USB Type-C charging port on the outside, but equally it feels high quality and considered.

The real confirmation of it comes with a lip test though.

This is where it really excels.

The elongated, nipped mouthpiece fills the void betwixt your moist, loosely parted lips perfectly, separating them just wide enough to be comfortable but not so wide you feel you’re sucking a lolly. It’s genuinely one of the titchyist and most comfortable I’ve ever used.

On the draw it’s even better.

The weight is perfect. Just perfect. The auto-draw is efficient and the reversibility of the 2ml clip-in reversible airflow pod is perfectly judged and spaced.

Here they’ve got it just right - again.

It’s a little loose and slow to fire on the auto-draw in the airier mode but on the tighter one it’s perfect.

Like the Kipo - it’s little brother - the Miso too has a fire button to add to the party - but this time it’s normally placed, and just as effective.

It’s a little hotter on the draw, but equally just as responsive and satisfying.

The warmth of the draw feels about 10 - 11w-ish but the output is listed as 3 - 15w, but with no means to change it, make of that what you will.

The inbuilt 1.2ohm coils have much to do with this and these perform well on both counts. The flavour is excellent, producing a nice cloud and good throat hit for both freebase and salts.

It’s a shame they’re not replaceable, but this is the fashion at the moment and disposability is the name of the game.

Personally I do hope that changes as it does add to the waste, and unnecessary waste is a big bugbear of mine.

That’s said what it gives in landfill it saves in power consumption.

The moderate 600mah built-in battery will charge to full in twenty minutes from it’s 5v/2amp system and supposedly last you a full day.

It didn’t quite for me, but then not everybody is me!

Another great design feature of the Miso I is the ability to fill it with the pod in situ despite it being a side-fill affair. The sculpted cut-outs make this possible and is genuinely novel, making life surprisingly easy.

In fact there’s a lot of design features I like about this device despite it not being a feature packed one.

It’s particularly satisfying on the eye with a nice, inlaid repeating pattern down the front and back and the power button is nicely patterned and textured.

Only the ill considered plastic base cap lets it down and makes it look and feel a little cheap, otherwise it’s all good.

The four colour schemes are all tastefully matte metallic too and consist of black, blue, red and green, with that repeating pattern glossily polished into the matte. Very swish!

Even the weight and dimensions are satisfying.

It’s smaller and lighter than most of its competitors too at just 23 x 14.5 x 86.7mm and 29g and it feels it as well. It rests comfortably in the fingers of the hand and is so small it doesn’t even reach the palm. At no bigger than a cigarette lighter, it’s definitely small enough to be a fidgeters device. Good news for a nervous-Nellie like me!

The sleeved cigarette box sized packaging doesn’t do much to ease my nerves either - and only contains the mod, pod, USB-C cable and paperwork. There’s no spares - pod or otherwise.

On a more positive note though, the range of protections on offer here are far more welcome for us anxious types.

There are six of them in total - overtime, over-charge, over current, high temperature, over discharge and short circuit, so you couldn’t get into trouble if you tried - and boy do I try!

All in all, this is another lovely little kit from Univapo, just like the Kipo beforehand. There’s so much to admire here.

It competes well in a crowded market and performs all its tasks well.

Perhaps only the disposability of the pods, the lack of a spare and the plastic base cap let it down a little but that’s all there really is to complain about - and they can be easily rectified.

As relative novices to the scene, Univapo are turning out some good products and putting many of their larger competitors to shame. The availability and distribution of their kits may be a little limited at present, but if they keep turning them out like this, the lack of stockists surely won’t last.

This is a company going places, and so, as that immortal song goes on to say, and I can confidently concur: “Me so horny”, “Me so, me so horny”, “Me love you long time”!

Oh heck, I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry.

Great stuff mate, a thoroughly good read indeed. Don't hold back though mate, it's good fun and I think univapo have a habit of this, what I mean by that is when I first opened the kipo I thought it was a butt plug. Can't wait for the next installment of Horny Astral's adventures in sucking.

Thanks @ForestMagpie, I don't know what came over me, I really don't. I just had the song in my head and got a bit carried away. TBH it's totally out of character for me and I made myself a little uncomfortable with it. I won't be doing it again!

Great review.

Like the style lol.

If it's any where near as good as the kipo it will be a good one.

WoW Wa Wee Wa Ryan!! Very Risky for u! LOVE IT! I do think that dirty goat @ForestMagpie is leading you astray though hahaha

Great review, not surprised as Univapo are indeed knocking it out of the park and they are a pleasure to deal with.

Well done x

Thanks for the review @Astral . No need to apologise mate. Do your own thing.

Thanks @rew. The style of this one isn't really my thing though that's why I'm feeling a little self-conscious of it. I hope people just take it as a bit of attempted humour and not think ill of me for it.

Peace and love all.
