Decided to see if I could cast a new button for my Boadside/Admiral mech.

Started off mounting the button on an old drip tip and then coating it in mold release

Once I glued to button to the bottom of a plastic cup I poured in silicone rubber to make the mold.

24 hours late I broke that out.

Next is mixing up the epoxy to pour into the mold.

Another 12 hours later it's time to remove the button.

Inspecting the finished button.

Lesson learnt for next time, I'll use less pigment as the blue has overpowered the gold flecks but impressed with the logo detail.

I've also ordered some dremel bits to remove overcast on the underside so the button sits a bit better.

Logo came out nice, cracking job mate looks fantastic can see what you mean about the pigment now though

Looks pretty decent for a first attempt, way better than anything I could put together [emoji1303]

Take 2

I recast the mold and rethought the pour point position

Ce la vie, I tried white nail varnish on it but the grooves are too fine for it to settle into.
