Mod or batteries no longer working - help please :(

the mod wasnt faulty but the update was. you will most prob hear user error so no replace.

so what happened to all your other mods.

I am using the Smok Alien kit with 2 Samsung 18650 batteries. I've been using this for several weeks.. the batteries are several months old but appear to be in good condition and have never failed me before.
First the mod display began to fade gradually.. although I could still vape, the screen soon went black. Then I was no longer able to vape, or turn the mod on/off.
The batteries are fully charged and recognised by the Nitecore I2 charger. I have no idea if the fault is with the mod or the batteries.. I'm hoping it's the batteries since that would be cheaper. Is there anything I can do to get it working again or will I need to invest in new batteries? Or are they not the problem?
Please assist me. Thank you
