I reckon its all down to regions with words like that

"Avin a tug on that number" would be slang for toking a joint round here (at least 15 years or so ago anyway)
we wold also use toking and tooting .. never heard it used for anything like heroin .. but then I wouldnt have the experience of hearing that anyway

no smoke in vaping so i gotta be a vaper, i like the word chuff so i am also a chuffer and i like a good chuff, i used to like having a puff on a little fag but those days are gone now.

I chose 'Vaper' as I agree with distancing myself from smoking and trying to break that stigma associated with it. So now instead of having to stand outside the pub to smoke, feeling like some unclean, disgusting specimen, I stand outside the pub vaping.
It's amazing how I feel like I've gone from being regarded as the aforementioned unclean specimen, to becoming part of a new, friendly, healthier, more interesting culture.
