In Germany I was between conservative and LibDem. But sometimes I picked a small party. It had just as much chance to get into government than the big ones. I don't agree with socialist.
Then I moved to this country. Labour seemed like LibDem in Germany but with weird socialist waffle that applied to anyone but the politicians them self. LibDem confuses me. They don't seem to stand for anything, or change their mind according to the weather. Tories aren't like the conservatives I knew, no hard working middle class. Just silver-spooned spoilt rich kids who have lost the plot. The only party that is comparable to their counter part are The Greens. But they don't seem to be very big here. And I don't agree with them either.
Honestly, a combination of your crazy voting system plus the fact that the only 2 parties that can make it into government are like a set of twins (slight personality differences but essentially the same) makes me totally apathetic.
Whoever wins will screw us over, one way or another while trying to make as much money as possible while keeping the great unwashed out of their mansions. None of them come from a basic background or God forbid possibly from the farming community.
A bit like that song "common people" ....

Never have, never will, I am what would be called working class, even though I have tried to better myself, I have lived through various Labour, Conservative & now 2 coalition governments and they have all taken money from the poorest to line their own pockets, only the conservatives own up to being more for the rich than the poor, and is when I have seen more money in my savings, but I wouldn't vote for them either.

I'm more naturally inclined to Labour, but traditional Labour, not the mockery of a party that threw out everything but the name simply to get power for power's sake.

That said, I mostly haven't bothered voting (since there is no 're-open nominations' or 'none of the above' option) and when I have it's been for the most credible local opposition to the incumbent (since they should never be allowed to become complacent). Unless that opposition is the Tories, who will never get my vote.
