Hi, does anyone know of a reputable place that sells genuine 18650 batteries? My device has arrived, I have some juice but I need some power lol
Ordered some online but typically they are not here! Rang round a few local shops and no one has them.
Cheers

Depends on where you're based bud.

If you mention the city, someone may be able to direct you to a local shop :)

I'm thinking argos or curry's or somewhere like that. I have some already ordered but they are not here right now and I'm itching to try this thing!

You'll not find the type of battery you need that's suitable in a main high street shop.

What you need is a high current 18650. If you by chance came across an 18650 in a high street shop, it'd unlikely be high drain.

For a high drain 18650 you'd need a vape shop / a specialist torch shop.

They won't have them. What you need is a specialist vape shop - they all stock 18650s and the staff will be able to advise you on which particular ones you need based on the power of your vape and how much you use it, because not all 18650 batteries are the same. You could check the "Exceptional B&Ms" thread on here to see if anyone's mentioned near you, or let us know what area you're in and someone will probably know a shop nearby.

[Edit: Oh, and while you're there at the shop, I'd urge you to seriously consider investing in a battery charger. If you haven't used 18650 devices before, you may be able to charge them 'on board' via USB, but not all devices have that facility, and external charging means you can still use the device on a second set of batteries while the first set is charging :) ]

As I thought. Bummer!

One more thing, when the one's I've ordered arrive tomorrow (I hope!) is it ok to charge them with the supplied charger which is USB, or should I be looking to get a dedicated charger too?

Where did you order the batteries from? If from eBay you take your chances. Only supplier on eBay that I would use is torchy. Anyone else I wouldn't touch with a bargepole.

This is important as weve seen fakes out there.

Fogstar.co.uk or 18650.co.uk are the only places I will order from and also others will recommend them. They are both forum vendors on the safe list.
