a overnight soak in warm water with a little washing up liquid cleans most of mine

After soaking off the Label I rub in a little Brasso with a soft cloth this is great for removing all the sticky stuff.
Then wash in warm soapy water Job's a Gooden!!

Hot water and washing up liquid and a bit of a scrub will generally do it

Not tried the brasso, just got some elbow grease and hot water!
