OK so as the title suggests this is a guide/journal into the world of Coil building RDA's and RTA's... i have been vaping a long time now, but only had a little brush with the rebuildable side of things.. but due to having poor equipment and knowledge, it didn't really work out Lol so I thought I would put this up so people can see the different bits and bobs I'm using, and my interpretation of the results.. don't forget what I like, may not be up your street.. so here goes!
I bought myself a few bits of kit to get me off to a flying start...
Geekvape tsunami 22 RDA (velocity deck)
Cleito EXO
Cleito RTA kit
Coilmasters DIY KIT V3
UD wire box selection
Bacon bits cotton
Now this little lot set me back a few quid but it was money well spent.. the wire selection box gives me six different wire types from kanthal A1 to Clapton to SS316 and Ni200.. twisted kanthal and nichrome! I also got a spool of 24g kanthal and some more organic cotton with the V3 kit, so I really have got a lot to play with!
Now just to be clear, you don't need all this stuff.. but, you will be rolling coils like a pro from day dot if you do get it.. that's not to say with some practice you wouldn't be ok with a spool of kanthal, a pair of wire clippers, some cotton, and a 2ml drill bit to wind your coils on, but it will be a lot better and easier if you do have at least some bits.. an ohms meter and a coil rolling jig, and ceramic tweezers.. and you would be away, but getting all this makes it much much easier!
A few pics to follow of all my odds and sods before we build some coils...
Just to add, I use the vape calculator on steam engine at the moment to work out how many wraps per coil, I really can't rate it enough.. however, I am only using regulated mods.. the pico dual 200w and a Smok X cube ultra 220w so this is based around regulated mods not mechanical mods...
