What is it about vaping that keeps being brought up in the media & government?

I don’t think that’s why, they seem to have loads of other stuff to talk about, in fact I never see anything about vaping in the news, really.

It doesn't fit the narrative. It's the pharmaceutical industry whose job it is to provide completely joyless smoking cessation products. I also think there's a lot of hysterical people that detest anything that doesn't conform to their narrow view of acceptable behavior. Vaping to the socially conservative just looks very suspicious.
I've read some vicious anti vape comments on news media comments sections.

The chinese actually invented something significant and usefull for once... so naturally the western world thinkers go hell bent on trying to smear it with shit. Just out of jelousy really.
£millions wAsted on useless pharma nrt's. Patches, gum etc....and all it took was one orient in a shed to come up with the very simplistic idea of an ecig.
