Should vaping be banned in public spaces ?

From parliament.uk :

“In terms of the railways, all train operating companies and Network Rail have worked together under their own by-laws to prohibit smoking in all areas of their premises, with the possible exception of car parks and forecourts. The British Transport Police are responsible for enforcement of the smoking ban on railway premises.”

I am not sure who would class a strip of concrete next to a railway track as "premises"

Anyway, as you quote "all train operating companies and Network Rail have worked together under their own by-laws to prohibit smoking in all areas of their premises"
So again it is a rule made up by a company................
The only difference in making it into a bye law is that the fine decided by the railway can be enforced in a magistrates court if you refuse to pay it.

yknow, theres some laws out there that were only brought in for the good and relevance of that shithole dahn-sahth.
Imagine having a fag on the most isolated train station in middle of gods own country, nothing else there but the sign saying where you are and single platform for the one-way train...and you get a fine through the post for it a couple of days later...
Just wouldnt happen.

Hi StrawberryRipple,

I think thats what is called scaremongering.
As far as the news article about Euston it was massive speculation, and exaggeration on the day.
Next day nothing in the papers, nothing on tv, and nothing from the police...........
Why, because they realised it was nothing to do with an ecigarette !!!!!!

As for relevance in this thread, Euston is a vast enclosed station, not an unmanned platform in a rural location :)

Dont think there will ever be enough positive spin to stop this happening.
It will most probably be in place before the right messages get heard.
