I don’t think there are a lot of options in the US, get into bed with BT, BP, or get obliterated by them. Integrity doesn’t exist in big business, never has.

It has reached a point where juice owners are exhausted and will fold, take what money they can before, as you say they're trodden on.

Altria Group (formerly Philip Morris Companies), acquired a 35% stake in Juul Labs for $12.8 billion on December 20, 2018. Juul received a $2 billion bonus to distribute among its 1,500 employees.
