EU Tobacco Product Directive Draft 27/03/2013

I can't go into detail on this right now (sorry!) but suffice to say, there is no need to panic, but we do need to keep the pressure on.

All this stuff at this stage is merely posturing. NO final decisions have been made. We are still working on getting a sensible amendment put forward, and in any event, there is a good chance that the TPD may not survive other attacks which have nothing to do with us anyway! Many, many opposition voices being raised - from a wide variety of Member States, etc.

They will NOT be allowed to sentence us to death - so don't worry. Just keep writing those letters, and forcing the facts on them. Eventually, either they will see sense, or a Judge will tell them where to stick it. :P

Cheers,

Katherine

God I hope so...........this is the only thing that has got me off smoking.

I know I import medical grade nic, maybe from the same source as Liberty Flights. Anybody can, there are Chinese places that specialise in the juice side of vaping and even sell flavour concentrates. PG and VG of medical grade has other uses, although it seems that bulk pharma VG is hard to find in the UK at a reasonable price.
But if this does go through who would be allowed to buy or sell nic base? I can't see myself being legally allowed to buy it as I'm not a pharmacist.

In fact does pharma grade base have an MA or is it only the finished article?
I know that for, say, amphetamines and ecstasy, often the chemicals are imported and made in the country where they are sold (from watching real life Customs programs).

If Liberty Flights is right that would force a lot of small vendors out of business. Due to insurance premiums they can only sell juice made by UK companies who hold Product Liability Insurance for their juice, they can't sell any made by a non-UK company that doesn't have their own insurance and if a new small maker starts selling they can't buy for sale unless that new juice maker has that insurance.

I have a couple of litres of the highest legal concentration allowed without a poisons licence, but I vape at 24 mg, am thinking of increasing if I want to stay off the fags with all this stress.
I've also gone back to smoking a very few cigarettes because I'm worried of having to get used to the taste again if I can't lay hands on any eliquid I know is uncontaminated.
So for me although I have a small stockpile my vaping is up and I'm duel-fueling again, just a little. That's the effect the EU has already had on me.
I don't tell any new vaper of the risk of a ban because then they'd stop vaping and go back to smoking.

It's been said before that people on forums are harming the cause by so many saying they've successfully quit smoking, because the WHO definition of that is 'quit nicotine'. I think I saw a figure of 7% taking up vaping as a smoking cessation method using that terminology.

But we (and some vendors) give the impression that we vape with the intention of reducing, then quitting nicotine, hand to mouth action, the lot.

I know I'm rambling and could make a dozen posts from this, but one last ramble.

How do we convince all of these committees plus the parliament that most don't vape to quit, that quitting by vaping is like quitting by smoking and cutting your fags down to zero?

Doesn't sound good. Will be expecting an email inbox full of e-liquid spam :(

Don't worry, I'm still only getting stand-up spam. :)
The latest pretended to be from Pfitzer.
The price is a rip-off. Well, I have heard they're manufactured for the NHS at a cost of 16p each.
But I think that only the USA sell a viagra vape. :eyeroll:

Hi all,

Had to share this article I found about the 'Rapporteur'..

http://wiadomosci.onet.pl/kraj/malgorzata-handzlik-z-po-wyludzila-1500-euro,1,5242030,wiadomosc.html

You have to translate it but basically she has been suspected of stealing from the EP in the past, and likes to dabble in judging some 'Miss World' type competitions in her spare time. http://wiadomosci.ox.pl/wiadomosc,6775,polka-zostala-miss-wakacji.html

Not sure how much input the rapporteur has in terms of the revisions, but still found it amusing.
