SMOK Alien 220w has bricked -any solutions please

Hi, The Alien mod I bought in the sale from DNA Vapes has bricked. Screen is black, the mod has totally shut down. It happened yesterday and I managed to revive it when plugging in to a laptop. Today it stays dead.
Does anyone know of a solution please?

did you try to update the software by any chance?
connecting via usb is mainly for updates and charging really should be done on an external charger.
if it is faulty then they should replace or refund even if it was in the sale.

I've tried several things. I always charge batteries on an external charger. I have a nitecore and an Xtar SV2. It isn't any of the obvious things. The unit is faulty as it cut out whilst in use.
