I use uwell coils and ive found that when you get gunk building up that if you simply take the coil out, run it under a hot tap for a few seconds the black residue has gone... Then just re prime and good to go... Also, try taking a few big pulls without firing, with the airflow shut and it pulls more liquid in, so you dont get burning.
