Hey guys, this was my first attempt at TC vaping but doesn't seem to be working correctly...

I may be missing something drastic, or maybe not doing something properly...

So I have just built a dual SS316 clapton coils, 0.25 ohms. And these are the setting I set on my mod...

So selected SS TCR 0105. Set the temperature to 250C, I locked the resistance at 0.25ohms and set the wattage to 80. All seems correct so far I think, basing it on videos and threads I have read.

So I took a vape and it is much much cooler than I expected, compared to my kanthal in power mode at similar wattages. But this is where things get strange...

So I watch my mod as I vape, that big screen does come in handy lol, and watts dont get anywhere near where i set them to, it will go up to 45 watts. But and here's the but, in my 4/5 second vape, temperature doesn't hit 250C, itll get to about 190.

If I set the temp to 315, it will get to 200c firing only 60 watts...

If I lower the watts and temp, it will lower the output even further.

I hope that makes sense, I thought TC should get the temp up as quickly as possible or as I said I could be missing something.

As always I look forward to your thoughts :)

TC is temperature dominant, wattage only boosts it up to that temperature quicker. To vape with TC, set your TCR correctly and adjust the temp setting to where it's needed to be. I found the Aegis disappointing for TC and moved it on.

Unless it's SS304, I think your TCR might be off.

Yeh I did manually change it to 0092 but didnt really make much difference.

So I am right in saying it should pump out selected wattage until the temp is hit then start cutting it?

Yeh sounds like this mod isnt great for TC. Oh well, back to power curve it is lol. Thank you :)

I generally found if you add 20-30C to the setting, it's closer, their algorithm for TC is a bit cool. It works, you just need to set the TCR and dial the temp to where it feels right.

Ok thank you, I'll give it a go. Just weird the mod never fires full wattage, which means I have to take a very long slow draw for it to get to temp... or maybe I pull too hard lol

Well I normally fire at 80, but with this new coil I have found 70 gets me there. But even with the temp set at 315 it only fires at 60... lol

Yes it is, and still wont get past 60 watts and not getting to 250C.... That's what I'm trying to work out. Why is that? Lol
