Is there someone more competent than me in the house?
Tonight my beautifully functioning mesh wick & coil on my Cobra went west. I had 3 attempts at recoiling - 2 also went west due to hot spots - the third worked, but not well....soooo.....
I made a coil up on a silica wick. Nice coil, thin wire, lots of turns (I am getting good at this bit) and a resistance of 2.6 Ohms. Wetted it fired it up, gradually increased the wattage and it was working beautifully. Put the top on the Siam, cranked things up and it was working fine - then I started to get 'blow backs' little explosions that had air popping out of the mouthpiece in little gusts, quite alarmingly. Moved the air hole around, checked the coill and all was well. More blow backs. Seems wherever I place the air hole I get these.
So - help? Please?
