It's worth a try. I think it's almost as good as the Pilgrim coils.

For some reason I have been assuming you shouldn't use nichrome wire in power mode. From all the comments here it is clear you can. I think I'll be giving that Coilology wire a go.

It was the first wire I bought at the same time as Kanthal and SS. At first I was all over the SS and then tried the Clapton and just preferred it.

you can try superfine mtl clapton from vandy vape or coilology,or even the fused clapton version if you are ok going a little lower ohm.they are fairly cheap and come with a 38 gauge wrap

I was stupid enough to try one of the pair that came with the simple ex squonker. Awful stuff. Whipped it straight back out.

30awg stainless steel. Much better.

Do you suffer much distortion with the 30? I find the 28 quite fragile

No @Discomatt , I actually use 32 sometimes and have used 34 before on dual coil numbers like le mirage. You just need to be careful with it when doing the wick. The 30 for most purposes is probably my favourite wire. I think as well you get very accustomed to it after a while.

I find the 30 in ni80 a bit stiffer, but then you have higher resistance to compensate for. For me the 316L is probably perfect.

I don't know if this will help, Qorax flames his wire with a lighter. Think it makes it less springy.
