A couple of years ago, @BaDaBooM sent me a piece of oak from an ancient barn. I think it was about 800 years old or something. I haven't spoken to him for quite a while but I'd just like to say thanks. I have after all this time done something with it. It will take a while as I am really taking my time on this one but I will post progress pics as I do it. It's about time I built a perfect mod. I won't settle for anything less from wood like this.
Thanks Jamie. Sorry it's been so long.

Cut off the woodworm, drilled the tube hole and soaked in Danish oil to hopefully stop it warping or cracking.

Slow progress but got the faceplate made today and the recess for it. I told you this would be a slow build

A fair bit of progress today. Braised a copper wire onto the battery tube, 3d printed a mount inside the hole, wired up switch and made a screen protector.

Top work that, it's a lovely piece of wood. The Danish oil has really brought the grain out a treat.

What have used for the battery cap/tube? It Looks really neat and tidy.
