Cobra Sub Ohm Tank styling and build quality

The Cobra is a reasonably compact atomizer being 22mm in diameter and 42.2mm in height. The 304 Stainless Steel construction is excellent overall, with decent threading, no sharp edges and it feels very durable. The Pyrex glass is pretty solid and should you ever have an accident, the box does include replacement glass.

The design is quite stylish and it tends to look really good on most mods it is fitted to. There are three logos on the Cobra but all of them are very subtle and neatly done. The tank comes with a pre-fitted PCM drip tip which is slightly tapered but since the tank features a standard 510 drip tip fitting, I personally preferred to use my Kayfun 5 drip tip.

Much like other compact tanks we have seen of late the coil is fitted almost directly under the drip tip with only a short chimney existing between them, as you would expect this does help to promote better flavour.

Compared to other coils the Ni80 ones included with the Cobra have an interesting wicking design and feature multiple small holes instead of a couple of large wicking holes or slots. The capacity is fairly generous and the tank holds 3.8ml of E-Liquid, thankfully refilling is simple due to the top filling design.

Airflow

The airflow offers a nice amount of variation and the Cobra can be vaped as a slightly restrictive direct lung inhale or heavily dialled down to the point where you can vape it as a mouth to lung vape. The adjustment ring works well but can be a bit awkward to turn when the Cobra is fitted to some mods, particularly my Lost Vape Therion and ASVAPE’s Michael Mod. In my opinion the ring would benefit from some knurling but it certainly isn’t a deal breaker.

Ease of use

Replacing coils is really easy and the included instruction card will be useful if you are new to vaping. Refilling is simple and it’s a case of unscrewing the top cap and squeezing your juice in before replacing the cap. The top cap is very secure and the threading is good, but I did think that a small amount of knurling would make it a little easier to grip, of course it’s not a major issue.

How does it vape?

I filled up the tank with some Double Drip Sun Drip E-Liquid and I found that the Ni80 0.5ohm coil was certainly a very satisfying vape at 32 Watts. Flavour was very clean, and most pleasant in terms of quality. The vapour production was rather generous for such a small tank and in my opinion it will certainly be sufficient for typical vapers, though the cloud chasing brigade would probably prefer much more.

One thing I really liked about this tank was the airflow variation because the draw itself was very smooth and you can dial it down to a respectable mouth to lung vape, but most of the time I happily vaped it fully opened up.

Despite the coil featuring multiple tiny holes rather than a typical coils wicking slots, I had no issues at all when using Double Drip Max VG E-Liquid. The capacity is more than sufficient so you don’t constantly feel like you are refilling it.

Conclusion

All in all I feel that the Cobra is a very well-made tank that offers an enjoyable vape at a sensible Wattage. I could not fault the flavour, or the vapour production so it would be well worth picking up if it appeals to you!

Many thanks to ASVAPE who kindly sent this product to Planet of the Vapes for us to review.
