IVG Pro Kit

Coming soon, we got a sneaky early look at the brand new IVG Pro range

Share on:

IVG sent these IVG Pro kits direct to me for a wee try out just before they were released. As of this date, they should be coming very soon so keep an eye out for their release as the IVG Pro will be hot!

I’ve said before that I used to use IVG juice prior to mixing my own. They have been around a long time and keep trying to do new things with their brand, so it’s no surprise that they started making devices that give people a lot of juice in a semi disposable way, (see the IVG Smart 5500s that I reviewed back in August last year and the other disposable vape options on their website).

This time they’ve gone one step further with the new IVG Pro device. It’s a 1000mAh internal battery kit that takes big replaceable pods filled with 12ml of their sweet, sweet e-liquid. The battery section is nicely designed with a rounded feel to it that’s very comfortable to hold. It has an oval base which allows you to stand the whole thing up, not something I should have to mention but a lot of big puff kits  don’t have a base and sit on their side or back a lot. Another obvious touch is that they’ve put the USB type C slot on one of the sides so you can also charge it standing up. There’s a LED battery screen on the front that, while simple, lets you know at a glance how much percentage of charge is left. Also on the front is some branding, and a slit at the top that reveals the flavour name once you pop one of the pods in. The whole thing together looks like a smooth matte metallic coloured pebble that’s had the end cut off, with a mouthpiece plopped on, and the gap plugged by plastic, so it’s quite aesthetically pleasing, despite my clumsy description!

The replaceable pods themselves are different as well. You get a 2ml pod filled with juice and a separate 10ml refill container that auto fills the 2ml pod once the juice in that runs out. I’m not sure how it works, whether it constantly refills or waits until the 2ml is done, but I suspect the former. As I say, the pods come separately and once you open both packets, you have to take the obvious rubber bungs off and snap them together to make one whole unit that you slide into the battery part to awaken the power and then you can start vaping. The pods are large and take up half of the space inside the kit to keep things as compact as possible.

This makes for a device that not only helps disposable users be a bit more environmentally friendly, but will also keep the costs down a bit as well.

Now that the description is out of the way I can report on the actual experience, which is the whole point isn’t it? As I’ve already alluded to, the set-up is easy, and IVG have put a nice big sticker on the back of the device to show you how to do it.

Once I popped a pod in, I started vaping and can say that the draw is a decent medium MTL to cater for most people. There are no airflow holes on the body of the device either, so you can hold it any way you like without restricting your draw.

I was sent five different flavours to have a toot on. These are all your usual disposable type flavours that have cooling and a lot of sweetness to them.

Fizzy Cherry

Oh, it’s nice. It’s a very sweet, candy like cherry with a blast of ice in it. Once the ice clears a bit, the fruity flavour comes through strong and it has a lovely aftertaste that sits there for a bit until you take another draw. There is no marzipan or unexpected tastes, and it’s just full sweet fruit for me. The slight fizz comes in after a few puffs and enhances the whole thing. Lovely!

Pineapple Ice

Pineapple juice in a vape. That’s what I look for in a pineapple flavour, and that’s what I get here. It has the perfect tang to it and goes down smoothly, which is good for a pineapple as they can sometimes catch a little on the throat. The ice fades after a few draws but is still clearly there, leaving the wonderful pineapple flavour to coat your mouth and tempt you in for another puff.

Kiwi Passionfruit Guava

This is one of those flavours that can be lovely or just slightly off. I’m happy to say this is a lovely one. It’s hard to describe as I can usually say that the guava and passionfruit mix in with a hint of kiwi kicking in at the end, but this one seems to just mix all three together perfectly. It gives a sweet tropical taste, with the kiwi trying to shine though overall, but then it gets pulled back by the other two to make for a flavour all on its own. If you like sweet tropical vapes, then you’ll love this one.

Classic Menthol

A refreshing minty vape that has a medley of mint flavours in it. I get spearmint and peppermint at the same time here, mixed with a mellow menthol to top it all off. It’s not in your face and it is still pretty sweet. The throat hit isn’t heavy either so you could vape away all day on this if menthol vapes are your thing.

Strawberry Watermelon

A classic disposable flavour that usually leans heavily to the watermelon side of things, but this one doesn’t for a change. You do get that watery, melony flavour right off but the strawberry kicks in right after it and mixes both flavours in well. It’s a light, sweet strawberry with a candy touch to it, and it offsets the sweet watermelon brilliantly. Definitely my favourite of them all.

Final Thoughts

IVG have done a great job here to innovate something for people wanting to get off single use disposables and be that bit more environmentally conscious, all while keeping the same standards of flavour that they’re known for and with familiar types of flavours that a lot of people want in their vapes.

There’s nothing inherently new here, replaceable pre-filled pods have been around for a long time. But in making larger capacity ones that can be replaced, IVG have themselves replaced all the ‘big puff’ (I detest that term) disposables with a device that can be re-used to get that same effect and flavour.

My missus loves the flavours. Hell, I love a couple of them myself and will be puffing that strawberry watermelon till it's bone dry.

You will be able to buy the kit and separate pods at IVG once they go live.

Thanks again to IVG for sending the IVG Pro kits to me for review.

Pros
  • Big, big pods with lots of juice in them
  • Replaceable pre-filled pods in one device

I was a very militant smoker for many years…why would I stop doing the only thing I had left that I liked doing?  Then I fell into vaping in 2017.  My wife bought a cheap kit off from Amazon that stopped working and I took it to a local vape shop to see what they could do with it.  An hour later and full of new knowledge about watts, ohms, and juice strength, I headed home with a new nautilus mini tank for her and raved to her about the helpful guy in the shop. I must have bored her with all my new found information.  I tried her vape that night, and a week later bought my own kit. Then I found POTV and the amazingly helpful and generous people on it. A month later I was making my own (disgusting) vape juice, and a month after that I was winding coils for my new RDA.  Six years on and I'm much better at making juice, and I now have no money but lots of shiny mods and tanks
