Digiflavor Pharaoh

Created as a collaboration between popular YouTube reviewer RipTrippers and manufacturer Digiflavor, the Pharaoh is an RDA that features a unique clamp system on the deck supporting a wide variety of different coil builds, and it's deep juice well is one of the biggest found yet on an RDA, able to hold up to 2ml of juice.

Available in three different colours, stainless steel, gold and black, the Digiflavor Pharaoh features some unique properties not seen before. There's an adjustable wick hole opening allowing you easier positioning of your wicks, ‘clicking clock’ airflow positioning, and triple bottom airflow leading straight up to your coil build. You've also got spitback protection available with the anti spitback drip tip, and slip plate juice flow control.

Design and build quality

With a 25mm width and 35mm height (excluding the drip tip and 510 connector) the Digiflavor Pharaoh is a robustly made rebuildable dripping atomizer. It's got some heft to it, feeling very weighty in hand, and overall threading is very smooth and the finish is very clean indeed. I received a stainless steel finish for review, black and gold finishes are also available for purchase with the Digiflavor Pharaoh.

The 25mm width does mean you'll need a suitably large sized mod to prevent any overhang, the Digiflavor Pharaoh has a very large build deck and juice well so the 25mm width is unavoidable. The top cap screws onto the deck nicely, with smooth threading present around the edge of the deck, allowing you quick access to that area. Around the outside of the tank you'll notice the huge airflow slots as well as ‘PHARAOH’ printed boldly, at the base of the deck a gold plated 510 pin is present. At the top you'll find the wide bore Delrin drip tip, featuring a large 11mm bore, there is also a spare drip tip with a built in honeycomb spitback protector and a 510 drip tip adaptor if you wish to use your own drip tips.

Paired with a 25mm mechanical mod or a large sized mod such as the iJoy Maxo for example, the Digiflavor Pharaoh sits perfectly on top and looks great, personally I'm a fan of the looks and styling of this RDA.

Airflow

Airflow is a particular highlight with the Digiflavor Pharaoh, around the base of the deck are three massive rectangular shaped airflow slots, measuring in at 5x2.5mm each. These feed the three huge airflow slots present on the base of the deck in the Digiflavor Pharaoh, hitting your coils from underneath. The airflow holes around the base of the deck are fully adjustable with the airflow control ring, and each click firmly into place when selecting your airflow setting. The airflow control ring did feel a little thin and cheap on my Pharaoh, and it also rattled slightly too, which was a slight negative in my opinion.

Building the Digiflavor Pharoah

Given the size of the deck and the innovative spring loaded post clamp system there are a lot of building options at your disposal. You can build in single, dual or quad coil format, with quad coils a little tricky to install, and the deck is designed to take large and exotic builds. Coils can be installed horizontally, or parallel next to each other. You have two large posts at either side of the deck, that feature spring loaded clamps, three huge airflow holes at the base of the deck in between the posts, which you will want to seat your coil over, and adjustable wicking slots at either side. The adjustable wicking slots make placing your wick tails easy.

It's actually pretty easy to build on this deck, it seems like it has been designed to be very forgiving indeed. Post clamps remain upright when installing your build, they don't need to be fully removed, there's enough space here to fit even the thickest coil legs into. When you fasten the clamps down these hold you coil legs securely in place, which also means stable and accurate resistance and performance.

Large diameter coils are what this RDA was designed for and in my opinion, you'll want coils with a 3mm diameter minimum. Large single coils or even large dual coils placed next to each other with a single wick fed through both perform best in my opinion.

Performance

Now when it comes to flavour, I found the Pharaoh offers good flavour, but nothing particularly special compared to other RDAs out there. There were times with certain juices that I felt the flavour was a little on the flat side, and increasing the wattage only served to dull the flavour further. I got better flavour results by switching my single stainless steel Clapton coil for a dual fused Clapton coil build, however the results were a little unspectacular still. I'm still experimenting with different builds on the Pharaoh however, so my experience might differ in the future!

Clouds however are where the Pharaoh really shines and this is capable of some pretty phenomenal cloud production. Those huge airflow intakes are capable of producing some pretty spectacular levels of vapour, this tank is definitely one for the cloud chasers! I found that even with the airflow restricted to just the one hole open, it still provides a restricted lung hit, filled with plenty of smooth vapour.

I was quite impressed with how cool the top cap stayed during usage, even with repeated prolonged use in the 60-70W region. It never seemed to get uncomfortably hot, and the Delrin drip tips do a great job at preventing heat transference to your lips. The 2ml capacity in the deck is very generous for an RDA, however when using high wattage builds I found that this drained extremely quickly indeed, requiring regular topping up.

Conclusion

All in all I have found the Digiflavor Pharaoh to be an outstanding cloud machine, it just fell a little short for me in the flavour department. It's a very well made RDA, that offers some intuitive design, and a huge deck space offering plenty of scope for different builds. With the amount of airflow present here and the large amount different building options available at your disposal, it is an RDA that I would wholeheartedly recommend to cloud chasers, at at the price point it's available for it's one that is worth looking into if you fancy something a little different!
