Vaporesso Vibe and Vibe SE

Part of what makes a great vape device is the feel, you get an instinct for it. You could almost say it is all about the Vibe. Stephen got to try out the latest kits from Vaporesso, the Vibe and the Vibe SE

I was sent these new Vibe and Vibe SE pod systems direct from Vaporesso to try out.

As I always say on Vaporesso reviews, I’m already a fan of their products but I do like a bit of marketing speak, and they’ve proudly proclaimed that ‘The Vibe Family is Vaporesso’s all new innovative MTL series’. This makes me happy as there’s always room for more ranges of kits from good manufacturers like Vaporesso. I’m hoping that the Vibe family gets developed like the Xros range has been over the past few years with regular new releases.

There are two kits to look at here, and both kits have an internal 1100mAh battery and take 4.5ml pods (obviously TPD versions will be 2ml). The Vibe has an 0.54” OLED screen, and the Vibe SE has a RGB light indicator that lets you know which mode you’re in and the battery level. They both have the Vaporesso Axon chip in them to give a nice, consistent draw, along with the reliability that it affords as well.

Design wise they’re both squashed pen style kits with vibrant colours for the fashion conscious. The Vibe has its screen with basic info on it, such as battery level, puff count, wattage and mode indicator. The Vibe SE just has the RGB light.

In the box for the Vibe SE, you get:

  • 1 Vaporesso Vibe SE battery
  • 1 Vaporesso Vibes series 0.8ohm dual mesh pod
  • 1 User manual and warranty card

The same goes for the Vibe version. No spare pods but it is technically two coils in one pod anyway.

And that is the innovative part of the kits. The pods use dual mesh technology to allow you to switch between two different modes. The eco mode lets you use one of the coils at 0.8ohms, giving you 14W of power, and the pwr mode uses both coils at 0.4ohms to give 24W of power. I love this idea and have already tried a similar device from a different manufacturer which, while a bit different, gave the same fantastic results. I really do like the idea of switching between the two coils for a different level of hit, and this is one of the first actual new innovations in pods that I’ve seen for a while, even if it is just a simpler version of set modes.

The simplicity is what makes it good for me. Vaporesso have put a switch on the side of the battery of both kits to allow you to flip between eco and pwr mode. On the SE, it changes the colour of the RGB light from green for eco mode to orange for pwr mode. It is nice, and it’s perfect for new users who are transitioning from disposables. On the Vibe, it changes on the screen to easily see what mode you’re in. That’s it, that’s how easy to use it is.

In use, all I had to do was fill up the pod, choose what mode I wanted to start in and wait a minute or two for the coil to soak nicely. The eco mode, as already stated, fires at 14W, and it gives a lovely flavour from the start. There’s no breaking in at all in my experience and no plasticky pod flavour at the start. I put some 20mg blue razz flavour nic salts in and fired away after about two minutes, and there was no hint of dryness from the cotton. As I said, the flavour was perfect from the off and stayed consistent throughout. Switching to pwr mode gives you an even cloudier draw and the even more of the same great flavour. While the pwr mode does give you slightly better flavour and a more intense vape, the eco mode more than holds its own and I think I actually prefer it as it will extend the life of the coil and will make the whole thing a touch more efficient overall.

Final Thoughts

I am gushing a little about these kits as I do like the whole idea. I’m very much into vaping MTL then switching it up and having a nice, restricted lung draw on higher power to boost it a bit. Now I can do that with a flick of the little switch on the side, then go back to puffing away MTL style without having to adjust power or change the pod. The Vibe and Vibe SE let me vape the exact way I like.

One thing I will note is that the draw is fixed. There is no airflow adjustment, and the draw is slightly loose, but in true Vaporesso fashion, you can cover the airflow hole that’s just above the mode switch to adjust it. I would just hold my finger over the hole, but I have seen folk in the past talking about covering with a wee bit of tape. Generally though, the draw is nicely medium, as most pod kits are these days.

The Vibe family has arrived, and it will be perfect for people looking to get a simple pod kit that allows them to boost the power quickly and easily. I know I like it.

Many thanks to Vaporesso for sending over the Vibe and the VIBE SE for review.

Pros
  • Switch up between MTL and RDL levels quickly
  • Eco mode preserves the life of the coil without sacrificing flavour
  • Pwr mode boosts nicely
  • Kits look nice
Cons
  • None for me

I was a very militant smoker for many years…why would I stop doing the only thing I had left that I liked doing?  Then I fell into vaping in 2017.  My wife bought a cheap kit off from Amazon that stopped working and I took it to a local vape shop to see what they could do with it.  An hour later and full of new knowledge about watts, ohms, and juice strength, I headed home with a new nautilus mini tank for her and raved to her about the helpful guy in the shop. I must have bored her with all my new found information.  I tried her vape that night, and a week later bought my own kit. Then I found POTV and the amazingly helpful and generous people on it. A month later I was making my own (disgusting) vape juice, and a month after that I was winding coils for my new RDA.  Six years on and I'm much better at making juice, and I now have no money but lots of shiny mods and tanks
