Sourcemore sent the Vaporesso Armour G over for review.
Another Armour kit from Vaporesso and this time it’s in pod form. I have the Armour Max and it’s getting a bit tatty these days as I’ve been using nonstop since it came out in, I think, 2023. I’ve not had to buy another commercial mod since and will probably buy another when my one gives up the ghost. So, you could say I’m already a bit of a fan.

The Armour G is a pod kit from late last year that has a 3000mAh internal battery in it. Vaporesso’s marketing says ‘3000mAh mega batt, mega power’, a bit cheesy, but a 3000mAh battery in a pod kit this size is pretty good going. It’s not small, but not big either, just sitting in a nice space between a pod kit and a pod mod (I dislike all the term pod mod, but the industry makes them up, not me). It comes with a pod that is compatible with the Vaporesso GTI range of coils, and the pod is marked as a DTL pod, so I’ll assume that the higher resistance coils aren’t really the best fit for this one, although it does say in the marketing that it is compatible with them.
The kit goes from 5-80W so would suit anyone looking for a bit of cloud, and it goes up in 1W increments so, again, not really the best fit for, say, a 1.2ohm coil. There’s a standard 0.96” TFT screen that is colourful and allows for animations, like a few other recent Vaporesso releases. There’s a lock button to lock all the buttons, a lovely feature that I rate a lot and am happy to see in a lot of the newer released mods and pods.
In the box you get:
1 Vaporesso Armour G Battery
1 Vaporesso Armour G Series Pod (DTL)
1 GTX 0.2Ω Mesh Coil(Pre-installed)
1 GTX 0.4Ω Mesh Coil(In-box)
1 Type-C Cable
1 User Manual and Warranty Card

Design wise, as I’ve said, it’s quite small for what it is. There’s a metal frame with some soft, leather type cushions coming out the side to make things a bit more comfortable. At the bottom on both sides are some LED lights that stay lit while the screen is on, but you can always turn them off in the menu as well. On the one I have, the branding is nice and subtle with Vaporesso on one side at the bottom and Armour G on the other. On the front, there’s a nice metallic orange button which adds to the style, the screen, the lock switch, the adjustment buttons and the USB Type C slot.
The pod is where the airflow happens, with a top airflow ring between the juice area and the mouthpiece. It takes GTI coils, which are push fit and do stay in well enough to prevent leaks. I did my usual method of leaving it alone for a couple of days, and I got no leaks and only minimal gurgling when I went back to it. I have the international version which holds 5ml of juice, and I do wonder if the TPD version will be one of those darker plastic ones where you can barely see the juice level, but the one I have is clear and easy to see through.

Function wise, it’s five clicks on and off, then three to get into the main menu, where you can use the adjustment buttons to cycle through the options. It lets you choose from two modes, either Eco or Pulse. The Eco is more sedate, and the pulse is the usual Vaporesso mode that allows for slightly better flavour and vapour. There’s a lock wattage function in the menu, something I’ve not really seen before, and the lock switch on the mod lock the wattage and the fire button so it’s not something I’ll turn off but is nice to have there. There’s also a theme menu that’ll allow you to change from the standard pulsing rings to a race car or car rims for your theme. Then there’s the settings menu which will allow you to turn on or turn off the smart mode (I always turn this off, but that’s just me), adjust the brightness, reset the puff counter, turn the animations on or off, turn the LED lights on or off, or just set everything back to default if you’ve changed too much and can’t remember what you did. A wee tip, on default everything is on.
In use, once I’d turned all the bells and whistles off in the menu, I filled the pod up and started with the pre-installed 0.2ohm coil. The coil goes from 45-60W, and I started on the Pulse mode with 50W firing through it. It’s a fairly airy draw with the airflow fully open, and the flavour and vapour from it is very good, as I always find with the GTI coils. Up to 55W, and it’s cloudier still while still being a reasonably cool vape. Onto 60W and it’s still pretty cool and the vapour is even more (not surprisingly) dense. I didn’t get any hint of burning at the 60W mark, but I’m always scared to go higher than recommended in case I get the dreaded dry hit. I’m always happy to go lower though, and even at 40W you get a good draw and a good vape.
Moving onto the 0.4ohm coil and it’s more sedate and suits the airflow tightened a bit. This one has a slightly less varied range of 26-32W, and I found it best at about 28W myself. The vapour and flavour are still really good, and it makes for a nice RDL draw when the airflow is closed off halfway. I do find with this kind of pod and airflow that closing off the ring doesn’t do much until you’re under halfway through, and at two thirds closed it was a bit more my style for RDL.

Final Thoughts
The Armour G is a good version of the pod mod style of vape (shudder). It’s got the power to give a good DTL vape and a good RDL one at the same time, and while it is compatible with the higher ohm coils available, I’d not recommend it as the draw is too loose. There are MTL pods out there to cater to that though so if you’re after MTL then you can just buy one of those. I also like the 3000mAh battery, it’s not often you get a pod kit with that much power storage in it these days.
The flavour and vape from the GTI coils are very good. The Armour G would be a good stand in for the other Armour mods available if you want something more compact and simpler to use.
Thanks again to Sourcemore for sending the Vaporesso Armour G over to try. You can buy it on their site for a good price at the moment as it’s reduced on there.
- Compact, highish power kit
- Good battery storage
- Easy to use
- Nice styling
- Need to buy two different pods for DTL or MTL

Reviewer at POTVI was a very militant smoker for many years…why would I stop doing the only thing I had left that I liked doing? Then I fell into vaping in 2017. My wife bought a cheap kit off from Amazon that stopped working and I took it to a local vape shop to see what they could do with it. An hour later and full of new knowledge about watts, ohms, and juice strength, I headed home with a new nautilus mini tank for her and raved to her about the helpful guy in the shop. I must have bored her with all my new found information. I tried her vape that night, and a week later bought my own kit. Then I found POTV and the amazingly helpful and generous people on it. A month later I was making my own (disgusting) vape juice, and a month after that I was winding coils for my new RDA. Six years on and I'm much better at making juice, and I now have no money but lots of shiny mods and tanks
