Lost Vape Ursa Baby 3 Kit

Stephen got his hands on the dinky Lost Vape Ursa Baby 3

Share on:

Sourcemore sent me this light little pod kit, the Lost Vape Ursa Baby 3, to have a pop at and report back on.

I like Lost Vape stuff. I never did get one of their DNA kits, despite hearing good things about them over the years, but I do like their pod kits as the coils in the pods are generally very good for flavour, and they tend to last for a while as well, in my experience anyway. This one is from their Ursa range and follows the trend of being small, simple, and having animations on the screen.

The Ursa Baby 3 Pod Kit has a 1200mAh battery. It charges via a USB Type C charger slot that will take 2amp/5V so will charge up nice and quickly. The power range is from 5 to 30W, and it comes with two pods, a 0.8ohm and a 0.6ohm one. The screen is a 1.3” TFT one, and the marketing blurb calls it an ‘infinity screen’. I do love a bit of blurb. The whole thing is made from PC plastic so it’s super light., good for those who like to use the included lanyard.

In the box you get:

  • 1 Ursa Baby 3 Device
    1 0.6Ω Ursa Cartridge V2 (2.5ml)
    1 0.8Ω Ursa Cartridge V2 (2.5ml)
    1 Type-C Cable
    1 Lanyard
    1 Ursa Manual
    1 Warranty Card

There’s also a couple of other cards in there, one showing the compatible pods available and another celebrating Lost Vapes 10 year anniversary. The lanyard is also themed around the anniversary.

Style wise it’s a square shaped wee thing. I do like the wee square pod kits personally, they’re just easier to hide in the hand for a wee stealth vape when out. On the back of the one I was sent, there’s a leather panel, to make it a bit cooler looking than just a plastic back. There are another five colours available, and some have wood effects, with others the same leather type look to them.  There’s a nice big lanyard attachment next to the pod recess and on one side is the USB C slot, with the airflow control on the other side.

The screen takes up a big portion of the front, and you get a space themed animation when you take a draw. It’s a small UFO flying round a planet with a vortex coming out of it, which then explodes. It takes a few seconds to come back to the main animated screen, which feels like an age when you just want to see the info, but it does look cartoony and cool, so I’ll let it pass. The info is nice and clear on the screen, you get the ohms of the pod, the puff count, the current wattage, and a battery bar, while the same wee UFO zips around the planet in the other animation.

Function wise it’s five clicks on, three to change wattage and four to lock everything. You can’t even take a draw activated draw when locked.

In use, I started off on the 0.6ohm pod and, I don’t know why, but I was pretty surprised by the vapour production and flavour from the pod. I should know by now that the small pods can give you a good blast at 22/23W. I get this a lot with pods, maybe it’s the size of them. This one is good though; there is a lot of vapour and decent flavour from it. Pumping it up to 35W gave me a nice RDL draw, and if you close of the airflow completely, you can get a good, tight MTL as well.

Moving onto the 0.8ohm pod, and I felt a bit better doing MTL on it with good flavour and vapour again. You can still get RDL draws without any burning of the cotton, so that’s another bonus for me as I do like some lower wattage lung hits as well.

Final Thoughts

Lost Vape have done another good job with this small, light pod kit. It’s got funky animation, that I quite enjoy for once. It’s simple and works well, which is something I also look for in a small pod kit.

Lost Vape have continued to offer affordable and reliable kits, and this Ursa Baby 3 is another one to think about if that’s what you’re after.

Thanks again to Sourcemore for sending the Lost Vape Ursa Baby 3 over for a shot. It’s super cheap on their website just now at just over a tenner in UK pounds.

Pros
  • Light
  • Powerful
  • Cool animations if you like that
Cons
  • Full plastic body but that helps keep the weight down

I was a very militant smoker for many years…why would I stop doing the only thing I had left that I liked doing?  Then I fell into vaping in 2017.  My wife bought a cheap kit off from Amazon that stopped working and I took it to a local vape shop to see what they could do with it.  An hour later and full of new knowledge about watts, ohms, and juice strength, I headed home with a new nautilus mini tank for her and raved to her about the helpful guy in the shop. I must have bored her with all my new found information.  I tried her vape that night, and a week later bought my own kit. Then I found POTV and the amazingly helpful and generous people on it. A month later I was making my own (disgusting) vape juice, and a month after that I was winding coils for my new RDA.  Six years on and I'm much better at making juice, and I now have no money but lots of shiny mods and tanks
