After what seems like an age, VOOPOO has resurrected the Vinci series name, but rather than issuing yet another new pod system, this time they’ve gone down the classic box mod and tank route. The Vinci Spark 100 kit consists of a compact 18650 box mod along with a sub ohm tank powered by their market leading PnP X coils, so let’s take a dive down and see how it performs.

The Vinci Spark 100 is available in six colours, and I was sent the black variant for review. Inside the box you’ll find the Vinci Spark 100 box mod, the UForce X-nano tank, plus spare O-rings and an extra glass, two PnP X coils, and USB-C charge cable plus a user manual.

The Vinci Spark 100 itself is a pretty compact box mod, and it’s incredibly lightweight thanks to its aluminium construction. All the edges are nicely rounded off making this comfortable to hold despite its slightly boxy appearance. Up front we have a nice clean control interface with your standard three button layout (power plus up & down) with a colour screen nestled in the middle along with a power lock switch and a USB-C charge port. All the buttons have a satisfying click with zero button rattle, and that lock switch allows you to quickly lock all the buttons for safe transport in pockets, sadly the behaviour of the lock switch can’t be altered and the option to use this as an on/off switch would have been a great addition.
The colour screen is nice and vibrant with two themes available which have an animation cycle displayed when you hit the power button, the animations can be turned off in the easy to use menu system though. As for the available modes, we have “smart”, “RBA”, and “eco” modes which are all basic wattage modes, the most useful here are the “smart” mode which will limit the power output based on the coil in use and “RBA” which grants you access to the full 100 watts on tap. Needless to say, you’ll struggle to get 100 watts out of a single 18650 battery, so in reality expect to be using this below 80 watts (and probably more like 50 to 60 watts if you want your battery to last more than 5 minutes!)

Up top there’s a spring loaded 510 platform which is 18.9mm across and raised 0.1mm above the top of the mod to reduce the chance of atty rash. The 510 platform is held in place with four screws rather than being a press fit design which bodes well for long term durability. This is good for atomizers up to about 26mm in diameter before you’ll start to get any overhang.

The left side panel comes away to reveal the battery compartment which has a spring loaded top contact plus a convenient strap for easy battery removal. Whilst the battery polarity is marked this could have been made a little clearer, bonus points for the battery warning label on the inside of the door though.
The on board charging via USB-C hit a peak charge rate of 1.7amps fully charging a Molicell 18650 in just 1 hour and 18 minutes. As always, this is a nice feature to have in a pinch but I‘d recommend using a dedicated external charger whenever possible.

The right side is a little special and has a LED array buried inside which lights up when you press the power button blinking the lights on and off hence the Spark moniker. To be honest, I thought this feature would be annoying and that I’d end up turning this off, but I’ve actually found myself leaving it turned on. This panel is also removable, and you can see that the LED array is powered by a bank of four POGO pins.
Both side panels are held firmly in place by magnets and close with a satisfying snap. There is the tiniest amount of side to side movement on both panels, but it’s not anything that you’ll notice in day to day use and I haven’t found myself fidgeting with these so overall an A- on the fit and finish.

Included in the kit is the new UForce X-nano tank which features a top down airflow system to reduce the likelihood of any leaking. The half turn top cap reveals two fill ports which are easy to use, and you have a rather nice 510 drip tip included.
The international version of the kit will come with a 4.5ml tank, sadly here we’re limited to a 2ml glass tube so expect to be filling this rather frequently. The spare tank is also a 2ml glass tube and I found myself wishing that Voopoo had included one of the 4.5ml tanks instead.

This uses the tried and tested PnP X coil system with modern press fit mesh sub-ohm coils. These are some of my favourite coils with great flavour and decent coil life making this a good stock coil solution. Both the supplied coils operate well within the power limits of a single 18650 battery as well, offering good battery life when you’re using this as your daily driver.
Conclusion
Whilst the build quality on previous VOOPOO kits has always been good, they’ve taken it to the next level with the Vinci Spark 100 mod. With a premium aluminium chassis and almost flawless fit and finish on the side panels, this is easily their best effort yet. The simple to use menu system and reliable performance from the Gene chipset are simply the icing on the cake. The included UForce X-nano tank and PnP X coils are a good stock coil option, but the lack of a bubble tank in the TPD kit makes this a slightly frustrating experience at times.
Many thanks to VOOPOO for sending the Vinci Spark 100 kit over for review.

SCORE 9/10
- Great fit and finish on the Spark 100 mod
- Lightweight single 18650 solution
- A bubble glass would have been a better than a second 2ml glass

Reviewer at POTVI was a twenty a day smoker for 25 years and like most smokers I was always going to quit "next week". Having hit my mid forties and having the usual smokers cough and difficulty with anything more than moderate exercise it was obviously time to give up the cancer sticks. I bought my first e-cigarette in 2013 when they were expensive, difficult to find and quite frankly... crap. I used it for about a week then went back to the roll ups, mark up another failed quit attempt. The fact that I had just changed jobs and was under quite a lot of stress probably didn't help. Move on to 2016 and whilst I was browsing eBay I noticed that one of the suggested items that would occasionally pop up was for a cheap e-cigarette. It looked similar to the one I'd bought 3 years earlier but it was only £5 (about 8 times cheaper than before) so I decided to give it another go on a whim. Once the kit arrived I managed to gradually replace the cigarettes with my new kit over a two month period and got into watching YouTube reviews for newer kit. My cheap and cheerful kit was replaced by a more upmarket affair, and being a noob I made a mistake once it arrived... I put in the supplied direct lung coil, this was of course a complete revelation and I haven't touched a cigarette since. Oh and I no longer spend the first five minutes of every day having a coughing fit either.
