Although the IPV400 is a slight let down in the looks department, it makes up for it with its overall performance, albeit with a few flaws such as the apparent lack of reverse battery polarity protection and stainless steel temperature control wire compatibility with 304 grade stainless steel rather than the more widely used 316 stainless steel, although that can be remedied with the implementation of custom TCR input.
In summary, the IPV400 is a device that will offer reliable performance, however the looks and less than perfect build quality may turn some users off. It's available at a very competitive price from many retailers, so if you aren't fussed on looks and are looking for a device that offers consistent performance, this may well appeal to you.
