Fumytech EZipe styling and build quality

The Fumytech EZipe is noticeably different to any other device you have come across before since it is almost the exact size and shape of a traditional Zippo lighter and it even has the same trademark “click” to it when you close the lid. The EZipe is made from Zinc Alloy and it feels very well constructed. The overall weight is nice and it is extremely comfortable to use and also incredibly easy to hide on your person which will make it highly attractive to those who enjoy a good stealth vape!

The EZipe has a single large fire button that is concealed by the flip top lid when the device is not in use. There is an LED which lights up around the base of the fire button when vaping and also when switching the device on and off. In addition the LED colour changes to red when charging and there is also a small charging light located directly above the Micro USB Port. Also located at the top of the device is the mouth piece which is designed to be unscrewed to allow you to remove the Fumytridge cartridge. The cartridges are very unique and are essentially a small glass and steel tank 2ml capacity tank that has adjustable airflow which you set before fitting and it also has a base section that you unscrew for coil replacement.

The kit contains two of these Fumytridge cartridges, one is designed for mouth to lung vaping and is fitted with a 0.9ohm coil and the other is intended for lung inhaling vapers and is fitted with a 0.5ohm coil. The Fumytridge cartridge fits directly into the EZipe and you then reattach and retighten the mouth piece to secure it. The EZipe does feature viewing windows on both sides so you can easily see the current juice level.

The EZipe has a Micro USB Port located on one side of the device which means you can keep it upright when charging and it also supports Pass-through so if you get desperate you can vape while you charge.

Ease of use

As you might expect given the nature of the EZipe it has no Variable Wattage functionality and effectively just works like bypass mode on other devices which means it delivers a set amount of power in relative to the Resistance of the coils that the device uses.

Five clicks of the fire button switches the device on/off. Simply hold the fire button down to vape.

Cartridge fitting and coil replacement are very straightforward as is filling and the manual does a pretty thorough job of explaining everything. Do remember to set the airflow on the cartridge to your liking before fitting it and make sure to prime the coil properly. The manual suggests you allow at least five minutes before vaping but I personally recommend you give it at least ten to fifteen minutes to make sure you don’t burn your coil. The wicking holes on the coils aren’t exactly massive so while you may be able to get away with 70VG/60PG E-Liquid you might run into wicking issues so either 50/50 or 60VG/40PG juice would probably be the best option.

Fumytech EZipe performance

I primed the coil and filled up the mouth to lung Fumytridge cartridge with some of Vampire Vape’s Heisenberg. I allowed at least ten to fifteen minutes before I took my first vape so as to allow the wicking in the coil enough time to fully saturate.

My first vape on the EZipe kind of surprised me because in some respects I didn’t really expect a great deal from it. The flavour was extremely good and all of the various notes in Heisenberg were completely noticeable! What’s more the EZipe put out quite a generous amount of vapour for a mouth to lung vape (I had the airflow fully opened up but you can reduce it if you want a tighter draw). Throat hit was also far more noticeable and seemed a little stronger when using 3mg juice and I think that is really due to the short distance between the coil and the mouth piece.

All in all the vape that this compact little device offers was rather impressive and I certainly don’t think it would disappoint your average vaper. Since Grey Haze have asked us to give away the EZipe in a competition I did not try out the other Fumytridge cartridge since it would be very bad form to give away a device with two used coils.

One other thing to note about this device is that given that the 0.9ohm mouth to lung coil doesn’t drain the 2ml tank particular fast and considering that the vape is pretty decent it means you can quickly take a few quick vapes to get your fix so it should last you a reasonable amount of time before re-filling.

Battery life was fairly good considering the device doesn’t use tons of power so the actual lack of Variable Wattage is actually a good thing in some respects.

Conclusion

The whole concept of making a vaping device look exactly like a Zippo lighter is certainly something of a walk on the wild side but surprisingly it is actually a very handy little mod that is easily carried around. It does have its limitations such as the set Wattage, the low capacity internal battery and small tank. However it is very well built, simple to use and offers a very good vape given its small size!

What’s more the two included Fumytridge cartridges offer uses a choice between a mouth to lung or lung inhaling vape experience. Replacement tank cartridges can be purchased should you ever have an accident and the replacement coil prices are comparable to other products.

If you were looking for a gift to give someone who vapes this could be ideal since by its sheer quirkiness the EZipe is altogether unique in the vaping market! In my opinion this device is well worth picking up if you like the sound of it.
