Halo Purity E-Liquid
Halo Cigs are an American E-Liquid manufacturer based in Florida. Their juice is extremely popular in the States to such an extent that the company doesn’t advertise their mix ratios in fear of someone copying their excellent recipes.
To be honest this isn’t really a big deal since most people won’t need to know except when using certain atomizers and the company does specify which ranges are high VG. One thing is for certain Halo manufacture their liquid to very high standards being produced in sterile conditions. Their liquid is made entirely in the United States to FENA/GRAS standards from USP-grade base liquids. They use 99% pure nicotine and only use approved high quality flavourings.
By handling our production domestically, we can source premium ingredients like United States Pharmacopeia-grade Nicotine, Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerine. We use only Food and Extracts Manufacturers Association-approved flavourings, which we have audited for Diacetyl and Acetyl Proprionyl by an independent lab.
And by owning our own state-of-the-art facility, complete with labs and clean rooms, we can ensure that:
- Our E-liquid was made in a sterile environment by trained chemists.
- It was steeped properly and stored at the correct temperatures.
- It was bottled and labelled accurately, so that you know exactly what you're getting anytime you pick up a bottle of Halo or eVo.
Halo Cigs sell their juice in a variety of bottle sizes: 30ml, 10ml and 7ml. It appears the larger bottles are made from glass but we received 10ml plastic bottles for review. The labelling is excellent being cleanly set out with all the relevant information and warnings clearly marked. The 10ml bottles received for review all had child proof top caps.
This juice range is available in the following nicotine strengths: 24mg, 18mg, 12mg, 6mg, 3mg and 0mg.
I received four flavours from Halo Cigs rather vast range of E-Liquid. All of the juice was vaped in a Kanger Subtank fitted with an Atom Vapes Ceramic coil. My device of choice on this occasion was the iPV3-Li. I also vaped a couple of the juices in my GP Heron 1.5 where I found the flavour layers of these mixes to come through beautifully!
Malibu
Malibu E-liquid is best described as a frozen Piña Colada twisted inside of a light menthol wrapper. Malibu Menthol E-liquid has a nice smooth flavour that is perfect for vaping poolside or at the beach. The throat hit is relatively light with no harshness, and the aftertaste is pleasantly sweet. This tropical E-liquid flavour is highly recommended for a refreshing springtime vape.
I happen to be one of those people that really enjoys drinking Malibu so this juice really sounded like it would appeal to me. Halo state that this juice is a Pina Colada E-Liquid but the coconut taste that weaves its way through the mix is without a doubt quintessentially Malibu!
However in addition to the excellent Malibu flavour you also get delicious pineapple flavour notes which really do compliment the coconut. Finally there is also a menthol present but it mainly works as a cooling element to add the sense of ice mixed in with your glass of booze!
I found this juice to be absolutely superb and I couldn’t stop myself vaping it but then I do really love Malibu. For some this juice might be a little too sweet as an all-day vape but even if you only enjoy vape it in small sessions you will certainly respect the quality of this mix.
Vapour production was quite good and I would say it was normal for a 50/50 or 60/40 mix. It is hard to say for sure since Halo don’t divulge their mix ratios and I’m only guessing but their juices seem very smooth so I suspect it is probably 60VG/40PG. I found the throat hit was mild to medium.
Devlin
Rich caramel notes come together to create Devlin, a delectable gourmet E-liquid that is always smooth with a sweet finish.
This is a delicious juice with a very luxurious caramel flavour. I am sure I also picked up hints of toffee notes in the mix. Considering it is mainly caramel and not much else you would think that it would get sickly but honestly it doesn’t. This is perfectly enjoyable as an all-day vape providing you like caramel.
It is extremely well mixed and quite delicious! Vapour production was good but quite normal assuming for what I suspect is a 60VG/40PG mix. I found the throat hit to be mild.
Torque56
Torque56 is a premium E-liquid with unfiltered tobacco flavour and serious throat hit. It is for those that want real tobacco flavour without a lot of complex nuances to cloud the taste. Knock your socks off with Torque56.
This juice is a bit unusual since I tried it before reading the description. Strangely enough for a juice that is a tobacco I could have sworn I was picking up an apple pie taste which is rather odd. If I think about it while I am vaping then it is definitely a sweet tobacco taste but very different to others you might be used to. In many ways it reminds me of El Toro Eden and even if Halo say this juice doesn’t have apple in it I certainly get an apple like taste at times. I think in all probability the reason the flavour seems a little confusing is because it is so incredibly smooth and there is a good amount of sweetness to it. Perhaps my taste buds are just weird but nevertheless I found this a top quality juice and I found myself constantly refilling my Heron so it is certainly well worth trying
Vapour production seemed good, we can only speculate if it is typical of the mix ratio. Throat hit with this juice was medium.
Belgian Cocoa
Belgian Cocoa starts with a complex, dried cocoa base and layers in rich chocolate notes to achieve a gourmet semi-sweet flavour profile that’s a perfect all-day vape.
I have often found chocolate vapes to just taste wrong to me. Either they border on being too bitter or they just taste artificial. This juice is an exception and has a very pleasant chocolate quality that is very reminiscent of hot chocolate. This is of course that slight dark chocolate bitterness you would expect but it is not overpowering and I found I could happily vape this juice all day. Certainly if you enjoy hot chocolate you can get a very similar vape with this juice if you apply enough power. Definitely one of the better chocolate vapes out there!
Vapour production was good. I found the throat hit to be between mild to medium.
Conclusion
I was impressed with all four of these juices and found them to be of very high quality. Each juice is extremely well mixed with flavour layers being especially noticeable and really delicious!
Considering the quality of these flavours I would assume the rest of Halo’s vast range are equally good and I am sure you will get a great vape from any of them! If you like the sound of these juices do check them out because they can now be purchased from a variety of UK vendors.
