One of the chargers that Nitecore manufacture is rather modestly titled the SC4 Superb Charger, this is a four bay battery charger packed with a host of features, most notably a large and detailed screen displaying real time charging information, the ability to charge at up to 6A in total or 3A in a single slot, intelligent charging mode which automatically detects battery type and capacity, alongside a whole host of other features. Featuring four separate bays for your batteries, the Nitecore SC4 Superb Charger is capable of charging four batteries simultaneously at 6A, or up to 3A in a single slot. You can manually select the charging current, and set it to charge between 300mAh to 3000mAh per slot. It is compatible with a huge range of different battery types, including 18650, 20700 and 22650 which are the most popular battery types used with vaping mods. A dedicated USB port is also found on the charger allowing you to charge your devices using a USB cable.

The SC4 Superb Charger is manufactured from fire retardant and flame resistance polycarbonate, and is designed to dissipate heat efficiently. A large LCD screen is found on the front, which displays information such as the current charging mode, battery charging status and the current channel status.

Nitecore have designed the SC4 Superb Charger to be easy to operate, you can just pop a battery in and it will auto-detect the type of battery and charging mode needed, and will charge accordingly without any need for additional input. However, if you would like to tinker around with the settings then you are able to do so. Whilst charging, you can press the C button to cycle through the four different channels, then press V to display battery status, internal resistance, charging current, battery voltage, charging volume and charging time on screen.

If the C button is held down further, you can enter the manual settings menu, or you can hold down V to prioritize slots 1 and 2 for charging. In manual settings, pressing C will alternate through charging mode, channel status and settings mode for the next channel. Pressing V when charging mode is selected allows you to change the current charging voltage, and pressing V when channel status is selected allows you to change the charging current by holding it down. Holding the C button down will exit the Manual Settings menu.

A whole host of safety features are built into the SC4 Superb Charger, giving you additional peace of mind when charging your batteries. The SC4 Superb Charger will automatically stop charging when your battery has reached 4.2V, preventing it from overcharging. Short Circuit, Overtime Charging and Reverse Connection Protections are built in along with a built in temperature monitor to prevent overheating. The SC4 Superb Charger is also able to revive overdischarged Li-ion batteries as well.

I found the fast charging feature to be a lifesaver when I needed a battery to charge quickly, I could get a Sony VTC5 fully charged in less than an hour! This was ideal for when I had forgotten to put batteries on to charge, and meant I didn't have to sit around for hours on end waiting for a battery to become fully charged.

Conclusion

Well the SC4 Superb Charger has certainly lived up to its name in the time I have spent with it, I have experienced faultless performance with this charger, which has charged my batteries up safely and quickly too. It is very well made, and packed with a whole host of safety features to give you peace of mind. For a four bay battery charger you can't really go wrong with the SC4 Superb Charger, which is available from many retailers within the UK at a very competitive price.
