Dirty Tricks In Covington?

A bricks and mortar store is temporarily closed following the sale of “dangerous substances”.

There’s no doubt that competition between vape companies is hotting up as they compete for the same customers. Langleys Vapes of Covington, Louisiana, believe they have suffered as a direct result of “rumours from a wishful thinking competitor”, as they were forced to temporarily close by Louisiana’s Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC).

The ATC said they had no alternative but to shut down the vape store because “an investigation showed the business illegally sold controlled dangerous substances”.

Local media reported: “The shutdown of Langley’s comes after an extensive undercover operation after which the agency alleged 73 counts of illegally selling, offering for sale or possessing a controlled dangerous substance.”

A nearby competitor was quick to suggest that the closure was related to the active ingredient found in cannabis, something hotly denied by Langleys Vapes. Tellingly, the police did not make any arrests and stated that no criminal action will take place – which pours cold water on that notion.

Langleys commented: “We've gotten messages asking whether certain rumours from a wishful thinking competitor is true. Don't believe the false rumours. Thank you for your concerns, and we apologise that we've been closed for the last 2 days. We had a sign posted on the door that some have missed, and we couldn't make an announcement due to being in the dark as to how long we would have to remain closed.”

They implored customers: “Don't believe the rampant lies that are out there, attempting to smear our good name that we've worked hard for in our community for the last 4 years. We've been one of the most trusted shops in our area for almost 4 years, we've stayed in tune with every law change that has come, and positioned ourselves to be a registered shop with the FDA to insure that we can keep helping our community the right way. We've taking steps to work hand in hand with the ATC, to make sure that our shop, and our industry stay on the right track. Sometimes in order to do this, it takes unexpected hiccups.”

“NO, we are not going out of business. Yes, this is short term and we will be back Nov. 7th. NO, we are not in some Miami vice drama situation with the need for bail. Yes, certain shady competitors will use it as a time to spout off lies and attempt to make us look bad (Please don't support those dirtbags). Yes, we'll most definitely need the support of our Langleys family to rally up and help us make up lost ground for the time we will be closed.”

They added: “We've never been in it for a quick buck like some others out there. We've always done what's right and put our customers first. We hope this will prove to provide the Karma needed for us these next few days.”

We hope Langleys can overcome the financial setback of the enforced closure and move on to a successful future. They can be found at 400 River Highlands Blvd, Ste 1, Covington, Louisiana.
