Vapefest 2015 takes place at the West Midlands Show-ground in Shrewsbury over the weekend of the 8th/9th August. The site can accommodate up to 20,000 visitors, 2,000 cars and offers FREE admission along with FREE camping. Members from the POTV forum and Admin team will be attending and we are getting excited already!

Vapefest, the original UK vaping event, has been running under that banner every year since 2010. The hard-working team have always looked for ways to improve and expand. Originally a pub beer garden vapemeet, Vapefest has experienced huge support from the vaping public meaning that last year the event moved to the 53-acre site in Shrewsbury.

Free camping is available on site while those seeking to make a long weekend of it can check into one of the many B&Bs or hotels in the area surrounding Shrewsbury, a town fully geared up for visitors. Each year the team produce a guide that will answer almost all of your questions, this year there is also a Top Tips section too.

One of the reasons for the massive popularity of Vapefest, in addition to the laidback friendly nature, is the free aspect to it. Ric, one of the organisers, commented: “UK Vapefest has always been a free entry event for the public. Last year quite a few people said they would pay. We're not keen on charging, so if you want to show your appreciation please put some money into one of Garry Dibley's Children in Need collection buckets.”

Another highlight has always been the incredible raffle; the quality and volume of items to win each year is awe-inspiring. “This year there will be two raffles instead of one big one,” added Ric, “tickets can be bought from the Soundstage marquee.” The raffle info page will grow and grow as we move closer to the event with over 75 additions in the pipeline.

Over EIGHTY vendors and manufacturers are already confirmed at this early stage meaning that one day is probably not enough to get round them all. Juice makers, mod manufacturers and vendors will be attending but, in addition, this year the organisers have invited the French modders collective to feature in the modders area. One look at their pages shows what incredible work they are doing: Animodz, Créavap, Mod in France, Vape Prod and Vape Tools.

Mention has to be given to the entertainment this year - and we're talking more than the team from Manabush twirling nipple tassles. DJ Billy Idle will be spinning tunes throughout the event, an eclectic mix of dance floor anthems and classics, from the late 80's to last week.

Bands are also featuring this year:

  • JOHK, a fantastic punk band from Poitiers, France. They have an album on iTunes so you can sample a load of tracks - or buy them.
  • Leicester's alt rockers Omaha.
  • LIVE/WIRE, described as the ultimate salute AC/DC.

Plus, we are delighted to announce that this year we will have a Planet Of The Vapes marquee. POTV members who would like to meet up with other forum users or escape the blazing sun, just need to keep an eye out for our logo and make yourself at home.

As much as there is already so much confirmed there will be many additions to come. “Please keep up to date with any changes via the website,” Ric suggested. The official Vapefest 2015 page can be found here and there is also a Vapefest Facebook page.
