“I often felt a sort of envy of human beings, of that thing they call spirit. Human beings have created a million explanations of the meaning of life in art, in poetry, and mathematical formulas. Certainly, human beings must be the key to the meaning of existence.”

so here is the original block we will switch between things here as we go along

test fit the skiver

alfIMG_3383.jpeg

sewing up the case all done by hand

alfIMG_3456.jpeg

edge coat on the case before the final finish

alfIMG_3457.jpeg

the mod is done lets have look at it

alfIMG_3422.jpeg

alfIMG_3423.jpeg

the side of the mod has a locket of "jakes" fur encapsulated in the side when the mod stops working as all things do and I'm long gone in another life of adventures "Jakes" fur will be forever there in the side

alfIMG_3424.jpeg

I didn't want the mod to look out of place with the fur, it was tricky to do. but you still get to hold "jake" if only a little part. the bond between dog and master is a very strong one it's a pure thing more so than what we see in the news these days.

alfIMG_3426.jpeg

the wood is wisteria the colours are a complex mix that reacted with the wood quite stongly

alfIMG_3458.jpeg
alfIMG_3460.jpeg

the case is done I was going to expose the screen I tried a couple of times but in the end, I choose a sleeve as the edges of the holes would wear, I didn't want the screen damaged

stand is finished it needs a bit more polish but its sorted

in the paw 360 degree

Beautiful work Stu and a fitting tribute. Almost brings a tear to the eye.

Liking the look of this one Stu, wish you'd dress the screws though, LOL.

I have a dilema here.
First the case is stunning.
but
A mod that beautiful should never be covered.

You've knocked that right out of the park Stu, even better than I had imagined.

The scroll work is perfect, as is Jake's encapsulated hair.

:thankyou: very, very much. :grin2:

A fitting tribute to Jake, aka Captain Fluffy / Slarty Bartfast.

A mod that beautiful should never be covered.

The case is to protect it from your grubby little mits...
