Top of the Reddit coil porn today on my first proper attempt making a fused clapton with the Nichrome I'd ordered, it spooled like a champ, going to have to try some other builds soon!
I also used the free 30 or 32g sample you sent to make some SS316L fused claptons, resistance was lower than expected (not really sure what I expected) but as a full SS316L will look at suitability for temp control (still got photos to upload for that build in my RDA)
I imagine fresh 316 will have a slightly lower resistance. Kanthal is sort of insulated by the alumina that forms on the surface of the metal. I'm not 100% if 316L works the same, I know nickel doesnt.
Perhaps as it beds in the resistance might raise? Did you notice a change?
I think I put 2 of them into a Tsunami but it kicked the Cuboid back to wattage (think it's a quirk in the SS mode, flashing firmware to stock and back could sort it), not tried it on the RX200 yet though
Resistance didn't change much from memory but past getting the hot spots out didn't go much further than that, just need time to give it a proper run in.
The fused claptons in the pic have been running happily in a Herakles RTA2 for over a week now with just a clean needed between use, huge flavour at 70-80 watts (0.19 ohm on the rx200)
It's also given me a reason to get out the macro lens for my camera to catch all the shiny on show
Stealthvape have supplied the guts including board of my first self build mod, in a floris delfino delrin enclosure. I think nearly all my coil materials supplied as well.
