Vapers' worst enemies: What should you know about them? (Part 2)
How do we oppose and defeat such enemies (in reverse order)
Again, let us begin our course with enemy number three, for the first two are specters, phantoms that are difficult to encounter and impossible to dispatch.
Conflict of interests can be and must be fought against with muscles and brains---every quarter is to be contended for and no one step is to be retrieved. The hound has already tasted blood, and if they smell fear or weakness, that would be the end to the prosperity of the vaping industry. Vapers must also lobby, dispute, and influence, and if they cannot make the Law come to their aid, it must at least be neutralized. The postponement of the deeming rule deadline is already a hard-fought and hard-won victory, and to hope and settle for less would be the most unpardonable act of betrayal to the vaping advocates who expended their wealth and time for the interest of vapers. There is no going back in this struggle, and the one who thinks himself losing already loses.
Prejudice also must be fought against, but results are often discouraging because most likely the efforts to correct prejudices will prove to be futile due to the obstinacy and vulgarity of human mind. One may be educated and immersed in the most plain truth, but he can still set his mind to deny whatever is true. Such is the difficulty of vanquishing prejudices, for though we abhor lies about vaping, we cannot, however, force anyone to conform to our understanding of truth, however transparent it may be. The only effective practice of fighting against prejudice is to persevere in persecutions while preaching the truth to as many people as possible so as to race against the heretical messages of the prejudiced, and in this way, we may hope that less people are being poisoned by their false opinions.
Ignorance cannot be vanquished, or prevailed upon, but certain measures, as we have seen in the course of history, if applied wisely, may be effective to stay the blind and tyrannical hands of ignorance.
Information clears the eyes and education cleans the mind. The best weapon against ignorance is the advancement of truthful information and the transmission of effective education regarding vaping. Blogs, seminars, conferences, summits, tours, exhibitions...vapers must endeavor to arm the uninformed mass with factual materials and edifying instructions in order to drive away the dark clouds of ignorance which has for so long blinded their unenlightened eyes.
Most certainly, not everyone will receive and accept the sound understanding of vaping that vapers undertake to disseminate to them, and it is to be acknowledged that such efforts which vapers attempt will always be a drop against the ocean when soliciting the education of a multitude so vast in number and so instinctively against the novelty of vaping. So might a foe is this ignorance that, though vapers are oppressed by it, they will have to bear patiently while struggling to convert their adversaries.
So Vapers, we all have to stand against these three haughty and powerful enemies, and for the everlasting benefit of the vaping community, let us not lose heart, but continue to press on, and endeavor to educate the ignorant, tolerate the prejudiced, and fight against the conflicted!
