What's new

So what is the point?

But by that account , the minute we hit 30 million doses of it , the numbers plummeted.

I've seen it in the data in the hospitals I work in for the city, end of Feb 250 patients , month later 50.

It's not a coincidence vaccinating people has led to rates and numbers significantly dropping. Even during Feb when we were locked down numbers were still very high. Once you hit 50% of the population vaccinated , suddenly covid started dropping.

Which takes me back to my question. If lockdown is the reason for numbers to suddenly start dropping after we vaccinated half the population then what is the point in the vaccination and it's design to reduce rates and stop deaths? The very thing that has happened when it was given to every age group that was greatly affected by covid?

I think the data speaks for itself.

that statement doesn’t contradict the idea that cases are lower because of the lockdown restrictions.
Maybe not, but it supports the view, held by many, that we (the population), were sold the idea that vaccines were the way out of the pandemic. Maybe it was just said, in an attempt to make more people compliant, and have the jab, now compliance is being sought via threats of domestic covid passports. I wonder what they'll come up with next :hmm:

Vaccination is the only feasible way out of the pandemic. Unless we're supposed to endure either a permanent lock down or never-ending cycles of harsh lock downs every few months.

Lock down has in large part got us to where we are now and vaccines are supposed to keep us here and keep improving things with fewer cases and fewer deaths despite lifting restrictions.

vaccines are the way out of the pandemic. that still doesn’t mean the current situation of low cases isn’t due to the lockdown.

i think this is the misunderstanding the op has. these two things aren’t mutually exclusive.

this makes no sense

in what way is showing you have had a vaccine a threat? To what end? Having the vaccine? Surely thats a good thing?
What do they gain from us all having the vaccine? Other than lessening the impact of the pandemic of course?

Unless you buy into all that microchip gubbins

I dont personally see the idea of showing you have had the vaccine OR had covid and therefore anyibodies as a threat - it seems like good sense to me

for years there have been countries you cant goto without having specific jabs, its nothing new - or anything for everyone to get their knickers in a twist about.

The threat is if you don't have the jab, or rather the jabs, you may be excluded, from activities, from employment, from forms of socialising, from being involved, from being an equal, to those who have had the jab. You might have hepatitis, knowingly or unknowingly, you don't have to prove you haven't got it, or have had a jab for it.

That's got nothing to do with it, I'm not referring to international travel.

If you have a good reason for not having the jab, illnesses - allergies etc - im sure that will be accounted for.

if you just dont agree with it or whatever - well thats your decision, thats the consequence of freedom surely?

you cant drive a car if you dont get a drivers license, you dont just get allowed to do it coz you dont believe in the DVLA

If you dont want to be excluded, get the jab. Or not - you have that choice.
