Thats why it does seem wierd, i mean, aside from the rodeo stuff(which i assume women r just too smart to take part in, and even still is becoming co-ed) almost all equestriam events in this country r like a womens sport

Funny thing is, again, they have the added benefit of not being a male when being bounced around a saddle, lol

@Jd_ women have been entering the Grand National for quite sometime as jockeys, it has just taken till now for a female jockey to win. The national has got easier over the last 40 years as fences have been modified to make them less dangerous. Its 4 miles plus so just finishing is an achievement. Your idea that being smaller and lighter should make them better jockeys is countered by the fact that riding a horse takes skill and also strength
 
Still trying to wrap my head about sexism in the jockey profession.
Because nobody wants to see this
