Edit: i take that back, we once had a gambling night for something, someone taught me to play craps, i won a huge pile of chips worth nothing and what i won was having to put them all away back in the chip holder thing, so.....not for me

As a former bookies manager my advice is close your account now. The problem arising from the bookies being closed is the amount of folk who will maintain their accounts and the temptation will be there for them to get into trouble. I have seen the bad side of what gambling can do and the ways betting companies get you hooked. These days you have so much to bet on plus casino's. For me it got to a point where i felt the gambling industry is a cause of a lot of poor folks lives being even worse as they lose all trying to win a few quid. I am not saying don't have a bet but getting into the habit is so easily done.

Well, thank you. I know about extreme gambling, I was/ am (alcoholic style) a slot machine junkie, for 30 years. I was lucky, I used to earn loads, hence, I wasn't necessarily, racking up debt. The money spent and wasted, is one thing, the time spent, and wasted, is another, and much worse, in many ways.

Yes i think as a role model Rachael Blackmore is far better than all those women who wear fake up. She has made history and has proven women can win the biggest horse races. I think she is on course for even more success. Achievements last for ever the way you look won't. Especially those god awful eyebrows that most women now draw on. If a bloke was to use something to extend the size of his John Thomas there would be uproar yet a woman extends her eyelashes makes her brows look different and nothing is said. Often you buy a Chocolate because you like the packaging only to find what's inside tastes vile.

Not to diminish her accomplishment at all, i just still dont understand how or why women arent already a part of this sport.
(I suspect it has more to do with tradition than ability)

Because almost the entire industry campaigned against it for decades. Leading commentators spoke out about how women had no part to play in racing. It was an unacceptable accepted norm.
