Evening Apes. Today I will be giving my thoughts on Voopoo's newest 21700 Regulated mod the X217.
This mod was sent to me for the purpose of this review and the thoughts and views expressed in this review are my own.

So some quick specs (stolen off Woody Vapes)

So I was contacted by Voopoo and asked if I would write a review for the X217. I have not been this excited since well since I was asked to review the Drag 2.

The day finally came and the tracking showed my package had been delivered. I rushed home in my lunch break and grabbed my new fresh 21700 I had purchased from Fogstar and rushed to work. Upon opening the package I felt this real disappointment.... I couldn't believe the colour option I had :17:.

So I wiped away my tears and gently cut the plastic wrapper of the box. Took a deep breath and opened the box :51:.

:D OMG this thing was beautiful nothing like the box. I could see brushed steel, carbon fiber (style inserts) and my favourite black and grey camo style resin plate and button. I was on cloud nine.

In the box you get the mod (obviously) and under that is your warranty cards and 4 boxes. One has the update cable and then two have your 18650 adaptors and the third has..... Fuck all its just a space filler lol.

I chucked my 21700's in and chucked my Drop on top and fired it up. Its your usual 5 clicks on/off. I started having a little play with them menu and its a little more complicated to navigate than previous Voopoo mods I own. It has a nice sized colour screen and has all the basic info you need and its all really easy to see.
If you leave the mod for about 25-30 seconds a screen saver clock comes up. I did think to begin with it was a little pointless but I really found myself using it a lot. After about a week I noticed that you can actually scroll the clock interface when its on and change the look of it which I thought was a nice feature.

3 clicks of the fire button toggles you into Temp Control mode, if you then hold the up and down keys together you get into your TC settings where you can adjust coil type/Setting TCR/Adjust Resistance/Temp Set/Adjust power/Adjust Unit.
3 more clicks then brings you to the Function menu where you then have to hold up and down buttons together. You can then change your Lock Setting/Lock select/Brightness/LED Select/Wallpaper/Language/Time/Date/System Ver (remember this so you can turn the LED Breathing off).

The battery door on this mod opens with a little slide button that springs open and pushes closed with ease. Unfortunately even using 21700's there's still battery rattle.

The finish is a nice brushed steel that's held up really well as I have used this as my all day beater and it has a couple of marks on it but only because a couple of times I have put it in the same pocked as my brushed steel juice flask. And because of the brushed steel finish I really noticed the vapour condensate on top of the mod which was fixed with a quick wipe.

The battery life is great. The first day using it I had taken 500 puffs before the battery indicator had even dropped by one bar. Unfortunately it only took a further 500 for the batteries to drop to a level where there was a noticeable drop off of power but 1000 puffs off one charge is amazing when vaping a 0.13 coil between 60-80 watts all day. As with the Drags this thing fires instantly. This mod has a centered 510 pin which should comfortably accommodate atties around 30+mm.
The 510 plate is flush also as the Drag 2's raised 510 would really niggle at me when I noticed it.

Right some pros and cons

Pros.
1. This is a big one from me, I'm so glad that the mod doesn't instantly turn on when batteries are inserted like previous mods. I have chucked batteries in before and pocketed mods and they auto fire. And also its a little safer with kids about.
2. Mod feels really well made. Its so sturdy feeling and comfy in the hands.
3. Hits hard and instant with 21700
4. Battery life is good. 1000 puffs on a single charge was amazing for me.
5. I think its a beautiful mod. I love the size and placement of the resin company names are not as intrusive like on previous mods.

Cons.
1. LED. I'm personally not a fan of the LED lights as I don't want to advertise my vape gear with flashy lights while out at night.
2. Battery rattle. I was really surprised that the 21700's rattled, I saw others had rattle with 18650's and 20700's but didn't expect it with the 21700's it was designed to use.
3. The bladdy box packaging. I would like to see the pic on the box reflect what's inside with colour options. (Although this isn't a biggie)

I have really enjoyed using this mod and It has easily taken over the Drag as my favourite mod. Its well made and easy to use. Hits like a horse and feels nice in the hand. Thanks Voopoo for this

Sorry for the cloudy pics somehow my phone camera has become scratched and T-Cut just isn't getting it out :(

Super review matey i learned something from it. i didn't know you could change the clock, 18650's don't rattle much unless you really shake the mod and move the battery or adapter, 20700's no they rattle loads but do work. nice one:2thumbsup:

Leighton buzzard... the x-217 capital :D interesting to hear how you got on with the bigger batteries, I had a feeling it would make a massive difference.

They are good batteries I was so shocked with how long they last. Was literally like carrying a triple 18650 around
