Voopoo Drag S - Review by DeeDee

I’ve just got myself one of these drag s pod tanks today, I have just added it to my voopoo alpha zip mod that I normally use. I normally use rbas etc but really not finding the time to build and rewick each day or two so decided to go back to stock coils for a little while.

First impressions. I made sure i primed the coil, not sure if this is still a thing but I did it anyway. Started on low wattage and gradually got it up to 70w on the 0.13 coil. Played around with the airflow and found about half open works well and once I reached 70w it took about 10 puffs then the coil started performing really well and pretty decent flavour. I like the snap in connection but when I had it upside down to fill I got some leakage which is probably down to me priming they coil but ill see how that goes. Anyway so far so good. Hopefully the coils last a bit longer than ones I’ve experienced before, but I did buy a 5 pack to keep me going. Cheers!

At 70w I can assure you that coils will not last even a whole week.
Thats to much power even for the VM6 @ 0,15, which is the lowest. Im vaping this one right now, at 60w, at is more than enough power to get the best from this little coil.

yeah I agree, I’ve got it down at 60 now and played about with the airflow to get it to how I want it. After a couple of days using this, I’ve already ordered the 4.5ml glass and I’m basically refilling every half hour and it’s not as easy as a top filling device. Not a bad effort but I will be able to give a less biased opinion once I’m using the bigger glass.

Maybe Voopo should consider making a proper 24mm tank for PnP coils, just like Vaporesso did with the GTX. Its worthy.

yeah I’m still waiting for my bigger tank to arrive but getting fed up with refilling this one. I’m eyeing up the falcon king now as something a bit bigger to use and ordered some new coils for the Maat tank to give that a try again. Think this device be handy more for on the move more than anything for a quick blast!

Which tank would that be please? I see there's a GTX tank, a GTX 18 and a GTX 22?

Both, but pretty much depending on the diameter you prefer.
...Or the almighty Fireluke 22, the tank everyones talks good about it. 3 coil options (ATM), 1 for DL and 2 for MTL. Not a deal beraker, but a disanvantadge VS challengers for me.

I thought I’d come back to give you some more thoughts on the pnp pod. I’ve been using the pod for a couple of weeks now, after my first week my own mod decided to break so I went an ordered a full Argus Kit so now I have 2 of the pod holders and I also got 2 extra 4.5ml pods to use as the 2ml are just irritating as they need refilling too often.

With the 4.5ml pod and 0.13 coil I must say I am quite impressed. I’ve worked my way down to between 45-50w which is well within the 80w suggested highest range. Coils are lasting about 6-7 days which is quite decent I suppose and have closed the airflow down to about 3/4 open which is giving a decent flavour and cloud of you like that kind of thing.

I really like the Argus mod too. Really light and easy to use along with a smart design. Have seen some reviews mentioning the sub par paintwork but so far I haven’t scratched mine but it’s just a matter of time. One good feature I’ve enjoyed is the mod won’t let you instantly fire if you haven’t been using for a few minutes, which is handy to prevent it firing in your pocket.

I have seen there is a new Drag Max coming out with from what I see is to be used exclusively with pnp pods and has a built in airflow adjuster and also comes with a RTA option which I like the look of. I have seen you can buy the RTA on its own so I may well get one of them to use with my current device but £10 for a months worth of Pnp coils seems good value but nice to have the option. I have seen you can get rebuildable coils too which is another option.

Having a couple of pods set up with different coils and or juices is fun and makes switching over nice and easy. Along for those doing long car journeys you could quickly change a pod over (in a safe place to park up of course!)

In summary this gets a from me for decent flavour, ease of use, look and value with an Argus kit coming in at around £40 but do consider buying the additional 4.5ml pods at around £10, for me they are a must have to be honest.

Thanks

VV
