I got this for £7 from FT just for the sake of it.

It's absolutely beautiful, plain and shiny, and as you can see from the pics, the joins are barely visible. They look worse in the pic - if you didn't know they were there you'd never see them in real life.

I've heard of many problems with the hybrid connector on this mod, but I can't for the life of me see how this one could have any issues. It's no different from an SMPL, XXIX or any other hybrid.

Edit: Actually, it is. The 510 on the atty needs to protrude a lot more than usual. Fortunately, a Stingray hybrid connector fits perfectly and improves the look to.

It hits like a train and the magnetic switch is smooth and bouncy if the throw is short, though a bit scratchy if not.

At 80mm it's a perfect partner for a nanofied atty.

I'd also suggest adding this Stingray hybrid connector: https://www.fasttech.com/p/1808300

i loved using my FT 4nine, mine is the brass button & cap version and it is excellent, the only thing that stopped me using it was the apparent lack of venting holes. admittedly i never had a shorting or autofire problem with it though. I put it aside but never got round to drilling a vent hole. beautiful mod though, one of my favourite mechs.

Thanks for the review Ment, was going to get the 1:1 ss clone but it's discontinued.
What's the engraving on the button like?

That's exactly why I got this one, and it's probably as good.

The button is very nicely engraved, better than I expected.
